  I had Nichols come out to get an estimate on changing my main water shut off and the water pressure regulator. WOW I got a shock. In fairness they had good communication, tech was fine. But the price!!! They don't list labor but it's built into each parts price. Plus they charge $99 just to come out to do the job. My total job was shy of $1600. I did not have them do the work. I went to homedepot and bought the pressure regulator for $199. Very easy as it threads on. Nichols price for same valve was almost $700! So figure $500 to install. No lol. I'll price out shut off, I'm sure it's even cheaper than regulator. Hey they have to make money but in the end, figure $1200 for labor and $400 total parts . So not for me.

  Other than a small piece of my siding chipped off during the installation process I am very satisfied. Timely response to send a representative out to my home and also getting it repaired quickly. All of the guys were very friendly and thoroughly explained and walked me through with all they did. Scott also did a great job of explaining what has to be done to get everything up to CODE. All of the guys were very professional,friendly and a bunch of hard working employees. as soon as they pulled out RGE showed up within 30minutes. The old riser cable that tore off my house left an unsightly ugly mark all the way from top to bottom and I was told that the new one would go in its place, however it only covered maybe half. All in all you guys are the best and I would highly recommend your company. THANK YOU greatly appreciate all the hard work the guys did and the timeliness of how quick the response was.

  When my hot water tank broke down and poured water all over the basement I contacted Nichols. They got back to me and sent 2 people to come out and look at it right away even tho it was the middle of the holidays. Jesh and his assistant came back as soon as I contacted them and installed the new water heater in amazingly quick time. Both were extremely helpful and friendly and made sure to speak patiently and clearly because Laura, my housemate whom I asked to meet Jesh for me since I could not , is deaf too . I would hire them again anytime!

  We had called RGE to test our home voltage due to lights flickering intermittently. Before we knew it, RGE were at our house with ladder cutting our main power due to an unsafe 220V riser cable exposed on side of the house. So then we were scrambling to find an electric co that could get the job done that day. And Nichols came through! They also had to replace our old breaker box and relocate the elec. meter to outside wall. They were polite, professional and prompt. Their work looks good too. Would have had 5 star rating except they mistakenly installed the wrong breaker for our kitchen resulting in tripped breaker when multiple appliances were on. But they came out fast (same day as I recall) to remedy their mistake. I would enlist them again when need arises.

  My wife woke up in the middle of the night to the smell of gas and a water heater that had flooded our basement - needless to say, things were not ideal especially considering this was early Sunday morning. I had recently asked my parents who they used for plumbing and gave Nichols a call around 08:30AM not expecting to reach anyone directly. I was greeted by a message that allowed me to either leave a voicemail or speak to the AI assistant and opted for the latter. The experience was genuinely good and the AI was very responsive, asking for details and providing clear explanations. Shortly after I hung up, I was called by a live person, Penny, and she helped me get Ron GuderJohn assigned to help us. Ron was quick to call me back to confirm he was on his way, arrived on time, and quickly diagnosed precisely what was needed to remedy the situation. A few hours later, our old tank was removed and a new one was in its place. Ron was extremely knowledgeable, polite, professional, and able to make the entire process run smoothly despite the fact my wife and I were running on a significant sleep deficit. He helped turn a stressful situation into a pleasant experience and we would definitely call him again for any of our plumbing needs. Thank you Ron and Nichols Electric and Plumbing for taking such great care of us!
