- NCNicholas CanepaApr 26, 20261.02 treads had nails showing. The stairs were screwdriver at the top sideways to where the screws were unsinkable. The top of the treads had big chunks missing and weren’t straight. Had to be cut in place and filled. Some staples and nails were filled some weren’t. The ones that were weren’t sanded down. The bullnose on the tread looked like they didn’t have the bit all the way so they each had a raised line in them that had to be sanded down. Some cuts had saw marks and chunks missing. The first tread that sticks out had no returns.
- DHDawn HolubMar 16, 20261.0They installed a railing in my home just over a year ago. Recently the post cracked so I asked them to fix it and showed Sean photos of it. After not hearing back, I was told their van was stolen. I gave him a week and then called again. This time I was told he had to fire two of his employees. Call after call he was coming. I even took time off from work to be home and he was a no show. After more than a month, I went with another company who came out and beautifully fixed the problem. Stay away from Island Custom, they clearly don’t care about the customer. Their service stinks!

We will be happy to suggest a professional painter or sealer to finish the staircase. A quality finish is important to prevent warping and controlling the moisture content within the selected wood species. This applies to warm and cold environments.
Is there a deposit needed to begin work?
Yes. Island Custom Stairs & Rails requires a 50% deposit before beginning any custom stair building project. Payment schedules are available for the remaining balances.
