From start to finish this was a perfect experience. I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the person we started with on the phone but he was so helpful and provided an incredible amount of information. Ed was great when he came out for our estimate. Our installer was fast, neat and did a fantastic job. It's been a few months and even in this frigid weather, everything works perfectly. 100% recommend using this company!
Frequently Asked Questions About Ed Mojica Installations, Inc.
How do I know if my garage door needs repair or replacement?
Signs that your garage door may need repair include unusual noises, unresponsive openers, or jerky movements. If you notice significant damage to panels or persistent issues, a replacement might be necessary. Our technicians can assess your door and provide expert recommendations for the best course of action.
Can I perform garage door repairs myself?
While minor maintenance tasks like lubrication are manageable for homeowners, we advise against attempting major repairs yourself. Garage doors are heavy and operate under high tension, posing safety risks. It's safer and more effective to rely on professional garage door repair services for significant issues.
How often should I schedule maintenance for my garage door?
To extend your garage door's lifespan and prevent costly repairs, we recommend scheduling a professional maintenance check annually. This service includes inspecting and lubricating moving parts, checking balance, and testing safety features. Regular maintenance can help your garage door last between 15 to 30 years.
What should I do if my garage door won't open or close?
First, ensure the opener is plugged in and remote batteries are working. Check for obstructions in the door's path and verify that safety sensors are aligned. If these steps don't resolve the issue, contact our professional team for a thorough assessment and repair. We also offer modern LiftMaster garage door openers if a replacement is needed.
How do I choose the right garage door for my home?
When selecting a new garage door, consider your home's architectural style, budget, insulation needs, and material preferences (such as wood, steel, aluminum, fiberglass, or vinyl). Also factor in the door's durability, maintenance requirements, and safety features to make the best choice for your home.
What are the benefits of an insulated garage door?
An insulated garage door offers several advantages, including improved energy efficiency, noise reduction, increased durability, and enhanced comfort. The insulation helps maintain a consistent temperature inside the garage, which is particularly beneficial if you use the space as a workshop or living area.
What maintenance is required for a garage door?
Regular garage door maintenance includes lubricating moving parts, tightening hardware, checking balance, cleaning tracks, and testing safety features. It's also important to have a professional visually inspect the door for signs of wear or damage to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Can I install a garage door myself?
Garage door installation is a complex task requiring specialized tools and expertise. For safety reasons and to ensure proper installation, we strongly recommend hiring a professional to handle your garage door installation rather than attempting it yourself.
Why does my garage door make a lot of noise when opening or closing?
A noisy garage door can result from various issues, including loose hardware, worn rollers, insufficient lubrication, or an unbalanced door. Regular maintenance and timely professional assistance can help reduce noise and ensure smooth operation of your garage door.
What should I do if my garage door won't open or close properly?
If your garage door isn't functioning correctly, first check for obstructions and ensure the sensors are aligned. Verify that remote batteries are working and the opener is plugged in. If these steps don't resolve the issue, it may indicate a more serious problem like a broken spring or cable. In this case, contact our professional repair service for assistance.
