Awesome service and quality. Blair always manages to pull the rabbit out of the hat when we have emergency rental needs.

I rented an 8500 pound excavator at their on line advertised rate of $2640 per MONTH. When I called to confirm the price has jumped to over $3200 for 4 weeks or 28 days including drop off and pick up, so really 26 days, but okay! The unit worked fine for three days, it broke down on a Saturday and when I called for service they couldn’t get an “on call” tech to answer the phone, so they sent one out on Monday, so I lost another two days. Their tech couldn’t even diagnose the problem so they told me they would replace the machine with a 10,000 pound machine. I told them that I would take the 10k machine temporarily until they fixed the 8500 lb machine and that I wanted credit for the two lost days and no up charge for the larger machine, which I didn’t really want! They agreed to those stipulations and delivered a broken down 10k unit (really loose and A/C didn’t work). I called them several times over the next few days about the 8500 but they kept putting me off. Then they billed me for over $4000 for the 10k machine. I called them right away and asked about the 8500 and reminded them that the 10k machine was THEIR doing and that they were not supposed to charge me for a 10k machine I didn’t want. They issued a credit for the $810 difference in price and they said that “as soon as the 8500 came off of rental they would return it to me” which they never did, but they verified that the end date for my contract was now July 3. So they rented MY 8500 # unit after repairing it instead of returning it to me, AND charged me extra for the larger machine! I called them on July 2nd to confirm pickup the next day. Their operator took my pickup order and stopped my contract on July 2nd but said the local office was closed on the 3rd for the holiday, so the unit wouldn’t be picked up until the following Monday. Two days after they picked up the machine they billed me another $810 for another week. When I called them on it billing told me it automatically billed and was already cancelled, but the charge is still on my credit card a month later, and when I disputed the charge United Rental told Chase MasterCard that the charge was valid! Either this is the most badly run business I have ever dealt with or they are a bunch of crooks, but either way I will rent my equipment from ANYONE ELSE!
