After my 24 year old A/C recently went out I immediately called Goettl. As an Arizona transplant I am so glad we have them here in NV, as they started in the 1930’s in Phoenix, AZ and my late uncle used to work with them as a contractor, so I felt I would be in good hands. I loved the AI digital assistant who initially scheduled my service call, and was delightfully surprised they were running a special with no service call or diagnostic fees. Upon the initial finding Lex was knowledgeable and honest at helping me to choose the best options for replacing my unit. They were able to install my new unit the next day and the installers, Taylor & Taz, were right on time on the dot, got straight to work, were very organized, and clearly had expertise in their profession. They were incredibly courteous, well mannered, and efficient. I love that the Unit was a Goodman brand as they are a US company based in TX, so any future part needs that may arise down the road are easy to acquire. Everything start to finish went smoothly, and I have not dealt with such a truly experienced and efficient company both communication and service in a very long time. I am truly satisfied and Goettl is my go to vendor for all things HVAC and plumbing in the future, and should be your “go to” also!
I want to start by saying Ford and the installers team were good, the hvac side is a whole other problem. What started as a estimate was smooth and comfortable, it turned when a lot of miscommunication started by trying to get a better price comp. Explained warranties were inncorect for the unit provided, they were only for their high tiers, not the one we picked and were told would have those warranties. Next they were going to put 3.5 ton when it should be a 5 ton, especially if we have a 5 ton. I was planning to go with another company. Goettl's team then wanted to try and compare, they offered matched prices/finacing, then when it came to estimates on paper the prices weren't matched, after some back and forth prices are matched and then I was offered a upgraded open box unit maybe for hassle of getting the prices, dealing with 4 people to get one price solid days later and all the wrong information being told for warranties and equipment. The open box unit was an upgrade and we were told it wasnt a used unit. That had just been opened up, we agreed for the open unit, since I had the higher tier warranties that we were expecting originally.
Moving foward install day is here, plumbing hasn't had any issues installing our tankless heater, hes still here working on it and seems smooth. Now the hvac team is here to rip eveything out and install our new setup, I decided to take a look at the open box unit. Once I started to look at it I realized this was a used unit and not indeed just a opened box as explained to us. I see corrosion on the coolant hookup, leafs and debris inside of the fan unit, on the outside I see its dented up, scratched up, badge faded and the coil fins are bent out of shape. All around the unit is bird feather sucked in and stuck, so its definitely had been used.
I then made a call to the service manger csuse they're about to install this and this wasnt what was explained and agreed on, about 40 mins later I get a return call to address this, I explained everything and they agreed to and just get me a new unit then.
Something told me to check the rest of our equipment, the attic air unit was new in a box and sealed, then when I look at the furnace...
It's not in a box sealed, then looking it over it has some sort of sealant around it, including scratches and dents. The furnace is a used unit, we were supposed to get a brand new furnace, not a used, open box or whatever. Were paying for new equipment, minus the fact the outside unit is only supposed to be a open box, which that wasnt true.
I called the office and un able to get ahold of a service manager, I wanted to see whats going on, why am I getting a used furnace. I never get a return call, and im panicking cause they're going to get a new outside unit but a new furnace is needed to.
Meanwhile I still havent gotten a call back from the mangers, and now the crew is back with the new outdoor unit, I ask if they were told anything about a furnace, and they were given a new one to install.
Guess what? I decided to check the new outdoor unit, and its not even the same one!
Its a lesser model unit, I call to get it sorted out, again! At this point I'm pretty upset, when you combine everything togther and that I took the day off to get eveything installed.
Finally I get a call from a manger, at this point the resolve is "tell me what you want us to do", and trying to convince me that its still a stage two with some minor diffrence, theres a lot of differences, quality and efficiency being one and the other is this unit doesn't have nothing of the same warranties. I told him I want what we're promised and agreed on, thats what I want.
The used furnace didnt even get brought up?
Currently waiting and seeing what else to expect by the end of the day.
What scares me is if I didnt check we would been getting used equipment installed in our home, when payed premium prices. Makes you think how many people might have used or refurbished units in their home and dont even know it, trust has gone right out the door.
