American Pumping Service provides septic installation, repair, pumping, maintenance, and inspection services to customers across the Albuquerque, NM area.
The staff who initially answer your phone call are kind, considerate and knowledgeable but if you require a call from anyone else, you might as well forget it. I waited over 24 hours for the first call-back and then was promised a follow-up call first thing the next morning. That was over two days ago. A polite follow up reminder from me made no difference--still no call back as promised. I give up and will call someone who shows some reliability and doesn't repeatedly and blatently lie to me.

We scheduled our septic tank pumping for 10/30/25 with the time given between 9AM and 11AM. Aaron the driver showed up promptly at 8:40AM and was done by 9:30AM. The whole service was done in a most Professional manner. From the driver to the office staff, American Pumping Service will get the job done. I can't Thank You enough! 5 star+ rating. We will definitely be using this company for our next pumping, and recommend them to anyone who needs this service!

The job was indeed done well - the guy who showed up to do the work was rude, sadly. To me and to my husband.
It's just not necessary.

I'm a real estate broker and had a great experience with American Pumping. They worked on the septic system for a home I was selling, and the lender had a bunch of questions because it was an advanced treatment system. Without answers, we couldn’t move forward with closing. I called American Pumping and got connected with Alicia. She was amazing! Super helpful, quick to respond, and even offered to talk directly to the lender to help clear things up. She really went the extra mile, and thanks to her, we were able to keep things moving. Definitely recommend!

We recently purchased a home with a septic system that was originally installed by A1 Plumbing, but serviced under contract by American. During our inspection, concerns were raised about the placement and quality of the installation. A second, septic provider confirmed that the system appeared to be improperly placed and would likely need to be replaced entirely.
The previous homeowner still had an active service contract with American, and arranged for them to perform a reinspection. The technician assured us that everything was functioning properly and confirmed there was one covered service remaining under the warranty.
A month later, we began having issues again. We contacted American, and were told—again—that the remaining service under the contract would be applied, and there would be no charge. A technician came out, completed the service, and never mentioned any fee.
One week later, we received a call demanding $140. When we explained what we had been told, the representative replied, “You must’ve talked to the other lady in the office—she never knows what she’s talking about.” She then followed that up with a threat to place a lien on our home and then HUNG UP.
This company’s conduct isn’t just disappointing—it borders on unethical and potentially unlawful. Misrepresenting warranty coverage, performing services under false pretenses, and then using intimidation to extract payment is precisely the kind of behavior warranty law exists to protect consumers from. If internal staff are giving out inaccurate information, that’s not a customer’s burden to bear—it’s a direct reflection of failed management.
Sadly, after reviewing other customer complaints, this behavior appears to be a consistent pattern, not a one-time issue. Miscommunication, vague agreements, surprise charges, and aggressive follow-up tactics seem to be common. Their behavior is predatory.
Had we been given accurate information, we would have gladly hired a professional company to handle the issue properly. Instead, we were misled—twice—and are now left with a bigger mess to address.
Businesses that thrive on misinformation, pressure tactics, and deceptive practices should not be allowed to continue operating unchecked.
If you value honesty, professionalism, and competent service, run—not walk—away from this company. Our experience has been nothing short of expensive, exhausting, and infuriating.
