- TWTyson WalshJul 27, 20222.0Not impressed here at the moment. Built my house 9 years ago. Wanted a Trane system as they were the best suited for our environment here in Newfoundland which is pretty much in the middle of the Atlantic. Our builder hired a contractor to install. Have had it up until now with no issues. Regular maintenance etc.... last week our compressor fails mechanically. When the service guy checks on warranty, it had never been registered. Was told when my house was built the installer would register the product and we'd be all good. Came to learn within the past while that up until 5 years ago, Tranes contract with the local distributer didnt require any installer to be an authorized Trane dealer or service company. Every handyman who wanted to install a Trane were able to purchase them. Apparently, it's happened a lot especially the mishandling of warranties. 5 years ago, Trane recognized this and pulled the contract here in Newfoundland from that distributor, gave it to National Energy and required only certified Trane Dealers to be able to install and maintain the systems. Now I'm here looking at a $5000 repair bill because of failed business practice. Ive spoke to customer relations 3 times...Apparently nothing can be down...just called again and was disconnected after I gave my case number. The number I left that I would be called back at in the case of disconnection?? It's been 30 mins..still no call back. This isn't good enough. If you stand by your product and respect your loyal customers, you will honor my warranty repair. Update: after waiting almost a week for a response. No responsibility taken..no help offered. This is terrible customer support. There is absolutly NO respect shown here.
