Even though we chose to be our own General Contractor, Julia and her whole team were always available to answer our many, many questions. Being the GC, all the permit/paperwork duties fell on us, but that didn’t stop Julia from meeting me in the evening and working through numerous forms we didn’t quite understand. She also put us in touch with her network of trusted subcontractors. People she could vouch for so we wouldn’t have to worry about the quality of work being done on site. Our home itself couldn’t be any sturdier/ better constructed. It’s obvious to us that Select Modular uses experienced, competent builders. Having been a Fire Inspector for over 30 years, I’ve come across multiple issues, even when looking at new construction. I still marvel how everything in our new home is straight, level and true. No shortcuts were taken. In shopping for modular home builders we found the competitor designs were basically take it, or leave it — pick option “A”, “B”, or “C”. It didn’t matter if none of the options appealed to us, that was our choice, period. Select was the exact opposite. They gave us much more leeway in planning our design. From us repurposing a room, to adding a half bath, they were always very supportive in trying to make things work for us. We don’t plan to build another house, but if that were to change, Select Modular would always be our choice.
