  Very Disappointing Experience – Worst Estimate Process I’ve Had This has honestly been the worst experience I’ve had trying to get an HVAC estimate. I contacted them in mid-December 2025 about switching my old oil system to gas. They came out, checked everything, and said they would send me a quote after Friday. I explained the project would be financed through South Jersey Gas and that I would handle permits and financing myself — they only needed to do the installation. They agreed with no issue. After that… nothing. I called multiple times over the following weeks and months. Each time I was told they were busy or that someone would call me back. Now it’s already late February, and I still never received an estimate, a follow-up call, or even a simple explanation. What makes it even more surprising is that their business is literally only a couple of blocks from my house , we’re practically neighbors, yet communication was nonexistent. Honestly, the experience made it feel like money might matter more to them than actually helping potential customers, especially when financing is involved. I could be wrong, but that’s how it came across. In the end, I completed the project myself with help from a friend, and everything worked out great. But the lack of communication and professionalism from this company was very disappointing. Hopefully they improve their customer service for future clients.

  Yesterday was one of those days woke up in the morning noticed that the living room was stupid cold and checked the thermostat turned it up and the heater did not come on. So after they did some checking, there was nothing that I could do so I called Homestead Plumbing and heating. They came the same day diagnosed the issue. I waited for the part. It took less than 24 hours that morning they called and said the part was in. They came over and installed it and I told the tech that an issue I had with my heater since 2006 and I’ve had other heating companies come out and they could not figure out the problem. The guy did some testing told me what to do. He noticed that where the problem is at cause my heater would come on for a about 15 minutes and then we shut off and it would do that during the course to get up to the heat which that’s not the correct thing. That tech fixed my issue less than 10 minutes out of all the years and the different heating companies I’ve had over. This is a family owned company and they treat you like family very pleasant guys as well. So if you have any issues with your plumbing heating or air, don’t hesitate to reach out to them they get it done right the first time.

  I've been using Homestead for about two years after parting ways with another company. So far I haven't needed anything but service for my heater and AC unit. (That's why only 4-stars. 5th star if warranted when I see how an emergency or something major that needs to be fixed is handled.) Scheduling was easy, have always shown up on time if not earlier and the mechanics that have serviced my equipment have been extremely courteous, professional and knowledgeable. The staff at Homestead have been courteous, especially Steve? the Service Manager. If you are in need or looking for a new plumber, you should call Homestead and give them a try. From my experience you won't be disappointed and you just might find yourself a plumbing service that is reliable and reasonably priced.
