We had a great experience with Modifloors installing our hardwood floors. The service was prompt and professional, and the team was flexible and easy to work with. Igor answered all our questions, gave us really helpful advice and recommendations throughout the process and made sure everything went smoothly. The installers were skilled, efficient, and did excellent work. Igor was very responsive and accommodating to our schedule, which made things so much easier. Honestly, working with Igor and Modifloors was the easiest and best part of our construction project. Highly recommend!

Modi floors is amazing! We’ve used them twice now for different rooms in our house. We had very specific timelines to hit and Igor and his team did a fantastic job delivering on our timeline and with high quality results!

I am saddened that I am unable to give ModiFloors a 5 star review. Communication from the start of the job was terrible. We were told the stain options we chose would be available to see a few days before the job began in a small area to consider the look in both daytime and nighttime, but instead we had a few minutes before the stain was put on to choose. We refinished an existing oak floor and added new wood flooring in our kitchen. Once the job was complete we noticed many gaps from the wood to the walls/molding which Igor blamed my GC for. If you know Igor you know he is full of excuses and defending the job that was done without even inspecting. I’ve had plenty of phone calls and text conversations with him. Once the putty in between the wood planks started to disintegrate less than a year of us living in the home I reached out again. Additionally, at this time, I provided photos of the nails that were very visible in the area where the NEW flooring was installed. Also, there was a miscommunication on where my AC vents would go. Originally the team cut holes into the floor, thinking they would be on the floor when we advised they were going back into the wall. They covered them up and now both of those areas are extremely loose. They never reinforced those parts of the floor from my basement. Your sock could get stuck on it with just a simple walk over the area. I have to say I definitely had to be persistent to finally get Igor to come to my home and check everything out. Prior to Igor agreeing to come he told me I could hire a flooring inspector to confirm whether or not this job was done correctly and ethically. When I contacted him with the inspectors information that I found all of a sudden he wanted to come check the job out.Upon arrival he told me he’s not responsible for any spaces that are less than a quarter size meaning if a quarter cannot fit in the gap then that is just natural wood and how it works with weather, different climate, etc. before he actually came to my home, he sent me an Amazon package of wood putty that I could do myself for the spaces. Mind you this is all before he even visited my home. This is all based off photos and videos that I was sending him. After his visit about 6 months after the job was done he agreed that his team would fix the major gaps, loose wood over vent cut out and the nails. The day before ModiFloors was due to come and fix the issues he reached out asking what my expectations were. At that point after all of this, I basically told him to fix the job properly. He never showed up or responded after that. It kills me that the existing floor prior to ModiFloors coming in was in great shape. We only wanted to change the color. Now there are multiple spaces gaps and creaks. The new floor that was installed is literally cracking, uneven cuts and many visible nails. Please see photos attached to make your own judgements on the job.

Upon moving into our new home, we hired Modi Floors to refinish all the hardwood floors, steps, and banisters in our home. We also had them replace the wood balusters with black metal. Fernanda was our main point of contact on the project and she was very attentive, professional, and respectful. She answered the many questions we had about stain choices and the process and we appreciated her patience. The reason why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the owner, Igor. On the last day of the project, the metal balusters were being installed and they were the incorrect style we chose. I called Igor and he said it would take a few weeks to have the proper ones ordered. Fine by us. Then, 5 minutes go by and he calls me back and informs me a secondary distributor he uses has the balusters we wanted. Fantastic, so his crew begins to swap them out until we noticed 11 of the 30 balusters were scratched and chipped. Mind you, we are now around 5:30-6PM, the end of the work day. I called Igor and explained that this is unacceptable as they are brand new, they should look as such. His response to that was “I want this project over with, so here are you TWO options. You can replace a few of the balusters with what is left at your house or we will take all 31 out and return when we have a new set ordered.” Take all 31 out? It’s as if he didn’t trust the product to sit in my house unpaid. Being that we also wanted this “over with” and didn’t want to cause structural issues to the banisters by ripping and re-installing 31 balusters, we went with option A. I did ask if they could come back a different day given it was the middle of the week and he was working an almost 12-hour shift, but I was told it had to be finished that night. However, since it was so late (he finished around 8:30 PM), the worker was rushing and exhausted. We now are currently dealing with loose balusters that my dad and husband are fixing every other day due to the poor installation. We shopped around and went with Modi due to their reviews and competitive pricing, but given the experience, I am unsure if we would rehire them for future work.

Update: After posting this review we got a text from below mentioned (who doesn’t want his name mentioned in reviews) threatening to sue for defamation if we don’t take the review down. To avoid that he said he’ll talk to the owner about a partial refund if we take the review down (because he’s just a sales rep). Their Instagram and website say he’s the owner/ceo/founder. Anyway, he says he can give us 1k back, but we have to sign a document saying we will take the review down, not be allowed to make further reviews, & review must be taken down first for a check to be mailed (meanwhile all other transactions were done through Venmo). My husband replied he’s not agreeing to those terms. We’ve heard nothing since. We’ve noticed MORE issues since. Floor makes sticking noise like it’s lifting from glue & stair tread came off(photo attached). We hope to hear back and get a FULL refund to now pay for a new company to come out and redo the entire floor to avoid taking this further. Everything started out great. My husband liked Igor when he came to price the job & he gave an itemized quote on the spot, which we love. We decided to go forward & they sent an itemized contract with lots of detail. THEN EVERYTHING WENT DOWNHILL FROM THERE. Igor told us Tues/Wed start date & it's a 2-day job. Over the weekend we cleared out our entire first level, including my office, to prepare for the job. I work from home & DO NOT get paid when I take off. They did not start the job until Thurs and worked into Fri. I lost a week's worth of pay & had a mess of a house. On Mon the woman on the phone said the reasoning for the late start is because the flooring delivery is delayed. The flooring came unexpectedly a couple hours after that phone call with no notice to our front door. Obviously the job wasn't delayed because of a delivery issue. We were told we'd get confirmation by end of day that they were showing up Thurs morning. No call, and they were at my door at 8:30 AM. During the 2-day job nothing was communicated to us about any issues or suggestions, so as far as we knew it was going along perfectly. Forward to the end of the job, we’re walking along the floors inspecting the job & cleaning. We find ourselves stepping into uneven flooring, what feel like holes in the concrete under the new flooring & walking over what feel like mounds. I even notice one plank is cracked(which was fixed). This results in calls/texts between Igor & my husband which go in circles because Igor never comes to inspect the issues himself. He just keeps trying to defend the job that he knows nothing about personally. The end result is we get money back for some of the job, because the other option was to pay him almost another grand to fix his own job and do it properly this time around. I'd never trust him at this point to do anything in my home, let alone fix his initial work. To make matters worse, 4 days later I notice my deep freezer is leaking blood in my garage. I open it to find about $500 worth of grass fed, organic, and pasture raised meat all defrosted and gone bad. It stunk and there was blood everywhere. The workers unplugged it unbeknownst to me to clean themselves off with a blower before leaving for the day and never plugged it back in. Igor Venmoed my husband $300 back for that issue. I can go into other issues like how the garage door doesn't close anymore and no one brought it to our attention. Or how I look out my window during the job see a man in my backyard flying a drone around, which no one asked my permission for. Or how our stash of alcohol was covered with a tarp to cover it in the garage and it was for some reason uncovered with a solo cup of ours laying next to it. It's now been a week or so and we just keep noticing more and more issues and are so upset and embarrased to have company over. We have yet to move anything back because it's clear we're going to have to hire another contractor to fix ModiFloors inadequate job that we wasted our time and money on.
