Had a new HVAC installed: furnace and A/C. Pretty seamless install day - crew arrived on time, kept everything tidy and clean, and total install took about 6 hours. No complaints at all at the time. However, system may have worked for a while that day, but overnight it stopped working properly and was no longer blowing warm/hot air. I had to call for a tech to come out the very next day after install. Not what I expected given all the positive reviews and experiences from others. Thankfully a tech was available to check it out first thing in the morning and he explained what the issue was and how it will be remedied.

The guys were so nice They and professional! I could not asked for more. They put cloths on the floor and cleaned up everything. They worked until finished. I'm so pleased with everything from the first repair man to the sales man to the installation. I certainly picked the right company. Also, the woman on the phone was very pleasant and helpful! Thanks to your Team!

Yesterday I woke up to 50 degree temperatures in my home. My heat was not working at all. I called South Jersey Gas and a rep came out advising that my igniter wasn't working and I needed to call HVAC immediately. I have 4 small children and could not be in my home without heat during one of the coldest winters and now I have a gas rep confirming how emergent the situation is so I started making calls. I called around to several places because I needed an immediate resolve and a lot of places didn't have someone that could come out quickly. Before Cardwell, I made the mistake of allowing another company to come and assess my situation. After taking a look at my heater, the gentlemen advised me that my heater is 17 years old (adding that my sticker read 2010) and that my only option was to replace my 17 year old heater with a brand new $7,000 one. After they left, I immediately called Cardwell and made an appointment. Shortly after I received a text about my technician, Eric, inclusive of a photo and short bio telling me a little bit about him. I liked Eric before I even met him lol. They also assessed that same unit, confirmed my igniter was bad, and advised they could REPLACE it for $500 (I paid a little more because I also signed up for their Gold Maintenance Plan) which they did and I now magically have heat. They left me a detailed report of their work and what immediately drew my attention me was their report noted that my heater is only FIVE YEARS OLD which was odd to me because the company that came out right before them said it was 17 years old so I was confused. It bothered me so much that I needed to do some research to determine which was accurate because, if in fact, I'm changing an igniter on a 17 year old heater Im liable to have more issues down the line but if it's only 5 years old should the igniter even be bad? Is it still under warranty? I had so many questions that needed answers. Luckily for me, Cardwell's Gold Package maintenance form was meticulous inclusive of each step they took during the diagnostic process with photos of each step. Those photos included my model and serial numbers for my Gibson heater so I was able to look it up myself and confirm that, in fact, my heater is only 5 years old AND still under warranty. I don't typically write reviews but I believe Cardwell is much deserving. They are honest, meticulous, efficient, professional. At a time where other businesses are trying to take advantage of individuals during desperate times, Cardwell's business integrity is held to a higher standard. I would and will recommend them to anyone who has HVAC & Plumbing needs. Thanks again, Eric and Cardwell! If not for you, I more than likely would have financed a brand new $7,000 heater that I couldn't afford and didn't even need!

Summary: In January 2026, my 64 year old boiler died, and I got it replaced by Cardwell. I was very happy with everybody from Cardwell that I talked to, the person who came out to do the estimate, and everybody who came out to do the replacement and repairs, and highly recommend them if you have any boiler issues. Don't be afraid to ask questions, as they will happily provide you with the answers and explain everything to you so you end up having a better understanding of how your home heating works. Repair tech: Initially when my boiler first died, I called a few places to get it looked at for potential repairs, and Cardwell was the only one who could come out on a Sunday. Sunday counted as an emergency day or whatever its called, so it cost $109 for the tech to come out. From what I can tell calling other places, this is actually a very reasonable fee for weekend services. After the tech looked at everything, the tech brought me into the basement where the boiler is to explain exactly what is wrong, and why the boiler was in its current state very dangerous to operate. The tech answered any questions I had, and based on the current state of the boiler he had to "red-tag" the boiler, which from what I can tell means "operate at your own risk". I ended up buying two space heaters from VHR hardware for $20 a piece and moved the family all into one room to sleep. Estimate: On Monday I took the day off and had two companies come out to do an estimate. The first company kept pushing me into a combi-boiler system which I did not want, and then reluctantly provided me a quote for a non-condensing boiler. The person from Cardwell who came out to do the estimate listened to what I wanted, agreed with the concerns with I had for the other combi-boiler quote, and gave me a better quote than the other company did for replacing the boiler with a standard non-condensing unit. My old boiler was 125k BTU, which is a size that is not made anymore, so they bumped me up to a 150k BTU model. After I accepted the offer, they scheduled me for Thursday, and the job was scheduled to be completed around 3pm Thursday. They also bring over oil-filled space heaters after you accept, so I ended up not using the space heaters I purchased. Payment: I payed in full, which means you pay 50% the day you accept the job, and the other 50% when the job is completed. They did an ACH transfer from my savings account. Install: The day of the install I worked from home. There were 3 people from Cardwell who came to do the install, later joined by a fourth person. They laid down drop-cloths and were considerate and respectful of my home. After they were finished with the install, they showed me how everything was installed and answered all the questions I had. Before the install, when my heat was working, I had two pumps and two zones, but both thermostats (first floor and second floor) both controlled both zones. After the install, it ended up being the same way, so the working theory was that both thermostat wires were spliced together somewhere in the wall. Repair tech #2: After looking into it myself for a few days, I realized that the thermostat spliced wire theory didn't hold water. When I turned on the first floor thermostat, the "ZONE 1" LED on the controller turned on, and the "ZONE 2" LED on the controller stayed off. Similarly, when I turned on the second floor thermostat and turned off the first floor thermostat, i saw that "ZONE 1" LED stayed off, and "ZONE 2" LED stayed on. I called Cardwell about my concerns and they offered to send out a tech to investigate, free of charge. When the tech arrived, I explained everything to him, and after some investigation he saw that the zone pumps were wired into the "AUX 1" and "AUX 2" terminals instead of the "ZONE 1" and "ZONE 2" terminals. He switched where the pump wires were, and then everything worked as expected, and for the first time since I moved in, I had two zone heating again. Again, this was free and no service fee or dispatch fee was charged.
