Capital Well installed my well several years ago replacing a dug well. Couldn’t be happier with the well and the service I have received over the years. I recently called to make an appointment for my annual maintenance visit and received same day service. I enjoy the prompt, reliable service and the friendly staff.

I am writing this to provide a complete account of my experience with Capital Well, which resulted in nearly $10,000 in property damage and a well system left in an unstable and unreliable state.
During a pump replacement, Capital Well removed a functional pump from 360 feet but could only get the new unit to 160 feet. They claimed a "rock dislodged" and cited an "act of God," leaving my well at less than half its original depth. I was told to "use the water normally" and was quoted $13,000 to fix the situation created during their installation.
I subsequently hired a different licensed well-drilling company to address these issues. Their work and a review of public records revealed that Capital Well failed to adhere to applicable state administrative rules, industry standards, and professional guidelines with some being the following:
Capital Well failed to perform a down-hole camera inspection to verify the nature of the borehole obstruction. They proceeded with a "blind" installation, which led to the loss of 200 feet of usable well depth. They then left with no follow up.
While Capital Well claimed the well was impassable at 160 feet, the second company did a full inspection and they easily navigated a ridge, successfully restoring my well to its full 360-foot depth and improving function on March 14, 2026.
According to the State Well Card, my well has a 2 GPM yield. They installed a 10 GPM pump against the pump manufacturers recommendations. This 500% mismatch created a "scouring velocity" at the intake that vacuumed sediment into my home, damaging an appliance.
The company performed a standard shock chlorination without providing me with flushing protocols or instructions. They just left my property with no follow up. This introduced highly chlorinated water into my septic system, risking damage to the biological integrity of the leach field.
When I requested that the company return to restore my well to its prior depth and functionality, their response was that I was “unreasonable” and it wasn’t their fault and that it was a “perfect” installation. They also internally flagged my account as "DO NOT SERVICE," effectively abandoning their warranty obligations while retaining my payment.
This was not an "act of God"; it was a failure to follow the professional standards of care required of a licensed contractor. I strongly advise consumers to avoid Capital Well. When given the chance to fix their mistakes, they chose to walk away from the job rather than make it right. If you decide to use them, use caution and make sure you request any and all documentation, wording of their insurance policies, as well as full written documentation of their warranties beyond the invoice that they give you.

The experience of having a well drilled went smoothly. From Steve, the drill team, and the geofracking team. All excellent to work with. The drill men were a pleasure to talk with and the were very considerate to my three dogs. The geofracking team was also excellent. Quick and very pleasant to speak with. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
