  Not a terrible experience overall. The plumber came out for the initial $89 service visit, was very nice and professional, and even helped me learn a thing or two I didn't know about our toilet. $89 well spent I suppose. That said, the repair job ended up being that the flapper needed to be replaced, which they wanted to charge us about an additional $350 to complete. He even suggested potential options should be that we replace the entire toilet for nearly $850... The plumber was saying it could wind up being a pretty complex job. I ended up ordering the flapper part on Amazon for $30 that arrived the next day and fixed it myself in a couple of minutes. Now, there are a lot more complex jobs than fixing toilet parts, I get that. I would still recommend them as a general service as they were very polite and professional. However, my experience felt like pretty significant price gouging and I'd just caution others to make sure you're getting a decent value when using them. If it's $350 to repair a toilet flapper, I can't imagine what a larger job would cost.

  I had a failing water heater, I requested a quote through HomeAdviser from a couple of local companies. Proactive Comfort was the second one to call (as the first company arrived for a consult) they were able to come that afternoon to take a look. The first company said I needed a new tank, (same poorly made model), and a mixing valve to get up to code, but offered to not install the valve to keep the cost low. Proactive Comfort arrived a couple hours later and said I needed to replace the tank (they use a superior tank brand), a mixing valve, an expansion tank (to get the warranty for the tank) and a vacuum valve (I think it's called). After going to his car to prepare the quote, he came back and was honest about his pricing "we might not be the cheapest but we're not the most expensive either" he then proceeded to quote me a thousand dollars less than the previous company, for more work than the previous company even thought I needed. Due to his honesty about pricing and the obviously superb knowledge compared to the previous company I agreed to the work on the spot. The next day the guy showed up on time, and worked for a solid three hours, updating me whenever I went down to check on him. I'm glad I found Proactive Comfort not just for this project, but also because I plan on using them in the future. They're knowledgeable, kind and honest in terms of what needs to be done.

  I hired Proactive Comfort to install a home filtration system. The appointment scheduling was very easy. They sent me a reminder via email. The plumber arrived on time, super courteous, explained my options, generated an estimate, did the work in a timely manner, and even installed a little hook for me to hang my filter replacement wrench on. Very satisfied!

  Communication great. Tech was courteous, professional, knowledgeable and in addition to covering the floor where he walked and worked, he cleaned up the area upon completion. Very impressed.
