- EDEric DAug 25, 20251.0After reading such wonderful reviews about OIC and Jesse the owner, I hired OIC to design and build a custom home for my retirement. My experience was nothing like any of the other reviews because I found the experience greatly disappointing and a waste of time and money. Jesse’s lack of communication, motivation and organization led to my decision not to pursue the building of the custom home with OIC and to not trust the design documents to be accurate and complete, making this entire design experience a waste of time and money. Throughout the experience Jesse continued to demonstrate a lack of accountability or responsibility, letting me know everyone else was at fault including the city the lot is in, Heather an employee of OIC and myself but not Jesse. As Jesse stated he and his contractor made minor mistakes with their submission to the planning board like wrong year, wrong town name, whether they were using explosives or not, and removing the rain garden from the plan that was requested by me and something I wanted to have. Jesse’s decisions to make changes to my requirements and not ask me but inform me or as he put it, “meant to tell me” made me mistrust what else he “meant to tell me but forgot” and the fact that I received an additional request to increase the budget significantly left me questioning if anything he stated was accurate or believable.

Outside In saved the day, taking the job over from the scammer who started it. OIC did everything but the foundation, having to remove what had been started. The end result is beautiful, high quality work. I would give them 5 stars, except for significant delays caused by their PM (no longer there), COVID related supply issues, and weather. I should have escalated concerns to the owner, Jesse (vs to PM) earlier, because when I did - he made things right ASAP. Great company that I wish I found sooner. I will definitely work with them again. Thank you, Jesse and Steve!

We utilized their Design/Build services to do a full renovation of a 2000 SF house plus a 600 SF addition to bring our plan to life. They worked closely with us to address the kinds of surprises often encountered with a 100+ year old house renovation. The team at OIC brought this project in on budget and completed the work in just over 6 months.
