Update from original post below: The Monday after I posted this review Owner Larry came to our house and accused me of slander. He ranted and raved, Refused to walk through the house to see what still had not been done, then left... but did nothing to fix his sub contracted workers errors other than contact his ac guy who came a month later to fix the problems and since then our power bill has dropped in half. In addition to everything in the original post , We now have cracks on our concrete porch (outside) of the areas made for expansion and contraction...but Larry does not respond to our text messages. You would think a decent person who has been paid for a job would complete the work and try to be done with us. ***Origional review :BEWARE!!! Help yourself and Find another Nationwide Homes builder...These guys are great at selling but awful at completion once they are paid in full. Nationwide Homes in Martinsville, VA is NOT being represented well by LGS homes. LGS home owner, Larry Saul's will rush you through your final walk thru with out using an official punch list. Larry blames any problems that come up on his subcontractors and does not take responsibility. Our home is now almost 2 years old and they still have not completed the work. They used green wood for 4 front porch posts that are cracked and twisting and Larry refuses to fix them, he only offered $400 but said, "he wasn't touching them" and "the posts aren't covered by the warranty." We contracted and paid an additional $27,000.00 for the front porch that we added to our home that was built by LGS homes contractors. Larry told us he would fix the broken door locks but only replaced one with a different key and never re-keyed the other doors. He has had to send in the subcontracted painter at least 5 times to fix the same areas at seems where the modular halves are put together and they still have not sanded and properly dry walled or filled crackes in the crown molding. The Heating and cooling system has been leaking freon and not worked properly since the day it was installed and the list goes on... It's really sad that our last house burned down and we have been recovering from that loss yet now we're being BURNED again by LGS homes.

Frequently Asked Questions About LGS Home Builders, LLC

What is a modular home?

Modular homes are prefabricated structures built in sections at a factory. These sections, known as modules, are transported to the construction site and assembled on a prepared foundation. This method differs from manufactured homes, which adhere to different building codes and are generally more mobile. The modular home industry is experiencing growth, with the U.S. prefabricated housing market projected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 5.8% from 2024 to 2033, according to Custom Market Insights.

Are modular homes as strong as site-built homes?

Modular homes are indeed as robust as site-built homes. They are constructed to meet the same building codes and engineering standards as traditional homes. In fact, modular homes often undergo more stringent inspections during the manufacturing process, ensuring their structural integrity and quality.
