My furnace is an older model and he could have easily convinced me to by new. He of course mentioned that as an option but reminded me of the merits of continuing the use of a well made unit and the lesser expense in pursuing that action. I went with the repair and I am so satisfied with the results, we just spent the last three weeks in 40 degree temps having a quiet and comfortably warm experience. Perry came out to do the service... called to say he was on his way, was right on time, was efficient, friendly, explained everything, answered my questions. He was honest, did not try to sell me anything for my 25 year old furnace. They are keepers.
