  We have loved working with Southern Energy Management for the design for our solar panels and battery system, installation, and monitoring. They have been great at educating us on how to tailor our system to our energy needs and goals. They are knowledgeable and extremely accessible. They did not try to oversell us but helped us figure out what made the most sense for our dual goals of being committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our home and saving money on our energy bills.

  Communications and design with both 4-5 stars hands down. Austin, quoter, is a class act and takes he time to answer any and all questions. As a new builder in the area, I got bids from Yes Solar, 8M, and SEM. Once we determined the placement and size, I made sure all 3 quotes directly quoted all the same materials and specs (27kW ballasted ground system, 3 Tesla Powerwalls 3 backing a critical panel, site preparation to include gravel base and weed sceen prevention, and a small fence around the perimeter of the field). 8M was the only company to come onsite and do measurements numerous times to make sure the quote was accurate but Yes and SEM were easily able to work up their quotes as well. Price 1 star This is where SEM gets a downgrade. Perhaps they are big enough that they just don't care if their pricing is higher than others. But for this project it was $60K over the 2nd closest bid. That's some extremely pricey labor for sure and when asked if they would cover the $7.5K site prep, they did not offer or even blink (of which the others did) meaning closer to double the price of the Yes and 8M. Maintenance ?? Couldn't rate this as I ended up picking one of the other 2 area providers

  It was a delight to partner with Southern Energy Management. The company stood out among the rest by having knowledgeable personnel who explained the process from start to finish and managed expectations with clarity and honesty. I would gladly work with them again for future solar and/or battery needs.

  Efficient, professional design and installation. Very responsive and tolerant of my anxious emails as the end of the year approached. Supplied all the documentation we needed for the tax credit. Our Duke Energy bill for the first month of full system operation had a $25 credit.

  Max, Leath, Frank and Hunter were AWESOME!! They were VERY courteous, efficient, neat, organized, mindful of my cats! They moved their water bubbler so it wouldn't be disrupted by their use of the ladder to another outlet - and I have to say that I found this VERY thoughtful and I appreciated it very much! They all seemed to work VERY well together as a team and I HIGHLY recommend these guys! A+ Thank you and me~ow! 😊😁🐱🐯🐈🐅🐆 We also just had Phillip (I hope I spelled this correctly!) Install the electrical portion of our solar panels and he was also very courteous, communicated everything we needed to know, was very respectful of our house and was neat and efficient as well. You all were a great team and I have NOTHING bad to say about any of you, and it is still too early to tell, but I believe we will absolutely be happy with our decision to get solar - electric bills have been going up lately, we are in Smithfield, NC and we get VERY windy storms and knowing that we will NOT have to deal with losing power due to the sun powering our house and storing it for later use is going to be WELL worth the cost! We also are purchasing an electric car very soon, and we will be able to charge it in our garage, which will save us from needing to use the charging stations and of course all the gas we won't need to use! The sun is amazing and so are you guys! Thank you so much! Get solar powered today! Paul Safrit, is the reason, that my mom decided to choose Southern Energy Management. He was very professional, personable, knowledgeable and made my mother very comfortable, and confident in her business choice of Southern Energy Management. It is a big decision, but also a smart decision, especially these days, a little security goes a long way. Paul, not only is a great salesman, he also came out to the house, after everything was done, to make sure it was working accordingly, and that we knew how to get the most out of our purchase.
