So glad I found Bill at Certified Indoor Air. We are in the process of purchasing a new home and asked for specific mold testing to be completed. I have severe asthma, so I wanted to be 100% sure the house was free of mold. Bill took the time to explain the testing in depth and answer all of my questions with 100% honesty. If you are wanting to get mold testing conducted, I strongly suggest using Certified Indoor Air.

This company cannot be trusted. I hired them and their conduct in my home was unprofessional, their test results were grossly inflated and I believe, manipulated and the scare tactics were unfortunately, very effective. According to their results, we were going to have to do a large, expensive remediation to make us 'safe.' The owner even stated to 'seal up our bathroom and run exhaust fans 24/7" till it is remediated. Then they recommended the company to do the work. That company came in and continued the scare tactics. We went to other professionals and found ZERO evidence of mold. I asked them for my money back, and the owner hung up on me. BUYER BEWARE.

We sought out help from Certified Indoor Air in late August/early September 2025 when we found mold in our home. Bill was quick to call us back and get us scheduled for a home assessment. His 2 sons came to complete our home assessment & spent about 2 hours in our home, in which they used a moisture meter on walls and surfaces & did a visual inspection of our home and crawlspace. We paid $1,100. They were thorough in assessing the inside of our HVAC unit but otherwise, did not use any thermal imaging or other means of assessing inside the home. I thought they would scope behind the shower, etc since the bathroom was a know source of mold. They took air and swab samples x6- however, I wish we were better advised on what samples we needed. David just asked me what I wanted but I’m not the specialist, so I feel like I had to make a decision that I did not know much about. The results came back the following week and Bill called and spoke to us for about 20-30 minutes generally about our results and just told us to call a remediation company. We were not given any official interpretation report outside of the Sporelytics swab and air samples that came from that lab. I emailed, called and texted Bill for 1 month before I finally got a reply after I (Hannah) emailed David, his son who did the inspection. We were requesting an official interpretation report including photos, as stated on their website(see attached photo). David had unofficially texted the photos upon my request, but we didn’t know where each photo was from because they weren’t labeled. First, they were asking for another $500 for the “extensive 60 page interpretation report” but I told Bill that because it states on his website that the home assessment includes a written interpretation of the assessment, that we should not have to pay $500 on top of the $1100 we already paid. After I (Hannah) spoke to David who said “oh we no longer provide a written report interpretation report in the initial fee but thank you for letting me know it’s still on the website”, he told me to call his father, Bill. I called Bill, left a voicemail and eventually he called me back; Bill then agreed to send a written interpretation included in the $1,100 we already paid by end of week that week….we did not receive this letter until 1 week later. Bill did email me an unofficial “interpretation” that was 1 page, somewhat vague, without a letterhead or signature, and in a non-printable format. Even though I don’t feel like this was a thorough written interpretation of our results, I was tired of asking and going back and forth, so I asked if Bill would redo the letter with a letterhead and signature and he said yes. He sent me the same letter with the letterhead for Certified Indoor Air 1 week later. Sadly, because of the poor communication, non-timely service & us having to ask for every little piece of information that we needed for our HVAC claim, I would not reccomend this company.
