  I stopped by Builders First Source in Hendersonville, NC last Tuesday (3/31/2026) Re: replacing a set of 8' in-swing patio doors, 4 panels OXXO. Heidi/millwork specialist stated that they have 2 certified windows/doors installers but she would not give me their contact info so I could get 1 of them to come out to check what the issue is with my doors, measure and get an accurate quote. She copied the measurements I made of the doors, said she would email me an estimate with the contact info of their certified installers. I went to Builders First Source again 2 days later (4/2/2026) when I didn't get a response from her, Heidi's desk was covered with papers, she said she's swarmed with work and would email me the info. I told her I understood and wished her a Happy Easter. Today is 4/7/2026, still no email, no phone call from Heidi. How hard is it to give me the contact info of the 2 windows/doors installers? It would have taken her a minute, a much shorter time than telling me that she's swarmed and would email me the info. I would have been glad to schedule an appointment but she insisted both times that I stopped by that she would email me the info. I am sure Heidi does good work when she gets to it. She needs an assistant or AI to help her with her workload. I shudder to think what kind of response, if any, will I get if I order the doors from them and run into quality issues, etc. I watched a YouTube video yesterday of Builders First Source in Mar Vista, CA . All Builders First Source should have a similar Windows and doors set up: knowledgeable and helpful salespersons, extensive display of several windows/doors manufacturers. Someone from Builders First Source headquarter should look into the Hendersonville, NC facility. There are lots of people working at that location but Heidi is the only person to talk to for windows and doors. Builders First Source is not the only dealer in this area for Jeld Wen, Sierra Pacific, Windsor, etc.

  A little more expensive than the big box stores. They have a very good selection of building materials and wood beams. This is not a home improvement warehouse like Lowes or Home Depot. The lumber is of much better quality than the other places. You must talk to a sales person, so bring a list. They have a lot of stuff but you must ask if they have it.

  They have basically everything necessary for building a house or commercial building, and what they don't stock they can have ordered with a pretty quick turn around. Also offers free delivery service for most building materials. Even if they do charge for some deliveries it's usually 10 bucks. Also have a very knowledgeable, professional staff. It's a national chain with local feel and local people.
