- MBmatt bennettDec 17, 20202.0I have rented across MULTIPLE sunbelt Rentals and CONSISTENTLY have the same issue..including today at the statesville road location. I rented a trailer initially for the weekend. I called on monday and ASKED if I could keep it for the week and was told yes. I offered to pay, and was told not to...to pay when I return it. When friday came, I called and asked if I could keep it the weekend as well. I was told yes. I offered to pay and was told no, pay when you return it. Over the weekend, heavy rain prevented us from working. As a result, I needed the trailer longer...till tomorrow, Friday the 18th. I called ASKED if I could keep it, was told yes, OFFERED TO PAY AGAIN, and was told no, pay when you return it. Today, Thursday the 17th, I received 2 calls. When I immediately called back, I was told they had ALREADY ran my card and it was declined. It was declined because I am transferring money from another account today (NOT THAT ITS ANY IF THEIR BUSINESS). I was told the manager wanted to lower their outstanding balances. IF THATS A CONCERN, THEN DONT TELL ME NOT TO PAY 3 TIMES BEFORE!!! I am paying over 300$ for a 2 week rental, that started out as a $60 weekend rental. You would think they would appreciate the extra business. Maybe instead of the manager being concerned about balances, he/she should make sure their employees are accurately notating the account when someone calls. This has happened to me at the concord location as well...and I ALWAYS offer to pay, and even explain to them that this has happened in the past. I AM ALWAYS TOLD NOT TO PAY UNTIL I RETURN IT!!! Now I'll probably be on the hook for an insufficient funds charge. Poor business practices FOR SURE!

What do I need to rent a tool?
All you need is your driver’s license or a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card to pay for the rental upfront. No extra deposit is required.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
What identification and payment methods are required to rent a tool from Sunbelt Rentals?
