Extremely Disappointed / Overpriced and Negligent
I have been a repeat customer of Acosta Heating and Air, spending approximately $28,000 between two separate properties over the last few years. You would expect a high level of service for that kind of loyalty, but my experience with the "new" unit in my townhouse has been a disaster from the start.
1. Poor Installation and Advice
The unit they installed two years ago has never properly cooled the home. Even worse, they installed a brand-new system while leaving a 14-year-old zone board in place. They never mentioned that a zone board of that age is at the end of its lifespan. Predictably, it failed recently, leaving us without air.
2. Incompetent Diagnostics
When the system lost power, Acosta’s solution was to try and charge me for an electrician to come out. Using my own electrical experience, I discovered the issue was simply a bad outdoor breaker. I fixed it myself for $18. Acosta completely missed this simple fix and tried to upcharge me for more "diagnostic" visits.
3. Massive Price Gouging
Once the power was restored, they diagnosed the dead zone board and quoted me $2,900 to replace it. I looked up the part myself—it costs $139. I bought it and installed it in 10 minutes. Trying to charge nearly $3,000 for a 10-minute job and a $140 part is predatory.
4. Selling "Old" New Equipment
After replacing the board, the outside unit still wouldn't kick on. I discovered that the "new" unit they sold me must have been sitting in a warehouse for years because the internal contacts were dry-rotted and brittle. After I replaced the rotted electrical contacts myself, the system finally worked.
Summary:
I spent $200 in parts to fix a system that Acosta wanted to charge me over $3,000 to repair—on a unit that is only two years old. They are happy to take your money for a big install, but their maintenance is negligent, their diagnostics are poor, and their markups are insulting. I will not be using them again.

In the last 18 months I've purchased both an AC and a furnace, and both were at a fair market price.
Yesterday electricians Shane H. and Jay were in my home installing recessed lighting. These guys are my new favorite Acoata employees! They were both courteous, personable, professional and knowledgeable. I was really happy to work with them and hope to have another opportunity in future visits to my home.

We had an Acosta electrician named Jay come to check our home and do our annual safety check. He communicated everything professionally while also explaining clearly so we could understand it all. He was very professional while also being personable. Thank you Jay and thank you Acosta!

Daniel R came to check my furnace, and he did an outstanding job. He explained everything that was happening in a professional, easy‑to‑understand way. He was incredibly kind while walking me through the proper maintenance steps and even recommended the right filters to keep everything running smoothly. Thank you, Daniel R. I highly recommend him. He’s gonna quote me thermostats! Great Guy!

We’ve been using Acosta for our hvac needs for years & were pleased that they started an electrical division several years ago. Recently, Jay & Shane replaced our electrical panel (an important & overdue upgrade) and they were professional and friendly. They did a terrific job and unlike electricians we’ve used in the past, they actually cleaned up the job site. I highly recommend Acosta.
