- GGGary Gorski6 days ago1.0Horrible experience with Rocky Mountain Power Systems. Through Costco, I purchased a Generac generator from them. After 2½ years, I filed a dealer complaint with Generac corporate. They recommended I switch dealers, which I ultimately had to do, to ensure my investment will adequately be serviced. The technicians lacked technical expertise, turnover in technical staff, failure or inability to respond to requests in a timely manner, and customer service was poor. These were just some of the problems I experienced. Most concerning, my Generac failed twice during power outages. When reliability mattered most, Rocky Mountain Power Systems’ incompetence only made the situation worse. Added bonus from switching dealers, I found that Rocky Mountain Power Systems charges extremely high annual maintenance costs compared to what I will pay now. In addition, my new dealer will monitor my generator for free, whereas Rocky Mountain Power System charges for this service

Just as described by Tyler on the walkthrough, there was a short pause and the generator kicked in seamlessly and quieter than expected. Barbara and I are extremely pleased with our new system and the Rocky Mountain Power Systems/Big Sky Electric staff members who made it possible. Everyone we dealt with - Eric, Jay, Hannah, Bo, Trevor and Tyler was courteous, professional and competent. We felt that the price was more than fair and the 10% gift card through the Costco special program made it even more affordable and appealing. Electrician, Bo, discovered a defective circuit breaker for Barbara’s pottery kiln and went over 50 miles out of his way on his day off to replace it at no charge. This was not part of the generator installation and was much appreciated. Bo refused to take any money for reimbursement for his time.
