  High quality, honest, and friendly craftsmen who take a lot of pride in their work. Very impressed with the quality of the custom built door and custom installation, Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality built Mahogany door at a reasonable price. Prior to Purchasing: While each situation is unique, the type of door setup I was looking for was too custom for any of the other companies I contacted. Each of the other companies offered (tried to sell me on) me something I wasn't looking for at a price that was significantly higher than what I consider reasonable, which is what set St. Louis Sash apart. Bill (the owner) came out for a paid estimate ($150 at the time of this review, which was credited towards the final purchase), and while all of the others were "free" estimates, there were clearly hidden costs as Bill's was far less than the others and never tried to sell me something I wasn't asking for. The Door: The door was beautifully crafted 8'6" French door from African Mahogany, custom fit to match the opening for my house. There were no significant deviation from the inspiration drawing I submitted. One thing to note is I planned to finish myself, so I'm not sure if they offer finishing at an additional cost, but I only needed to sand and oil the Mahogany a couple of times to get a beautiful finish (I used TotalBoat Danish Sealer). The downside to an exterior wood door is it does require maintenance. An annual coat of oil is probably all that's needed; possibly every 6 months or sooner depending on the environment. The Installation: It was clearly evident that Bill and his son really know what they are doing when it comes to installation. The install was even more costum than the door and they took their time. While not a typical scenario, they spent a full 3 days to make sure it was complete and properly installed. Final Thoughts: While St. Louis Sash doesn't offer all of the "perks" a lot of the other local door companies do, they did an exceptional job on both the build and installation of my door and were very reasonable in price.

  Bill has built a lot of items for our Lafayette Square house. Custom cabinets, custom windows and parts of trims that needed replaced. The outstanding quality is amazing.
