Hewitt-Messenger Well Drilling & Pump Service provides pump repair and well drilling as well as water treatment, conditioning, and testing to the Nixa, MO area.
The service guys always do well. The only complaint I have is about your information systems. The service crew showed up without the bulb needed to change out in my UV sanitizer, because that information was not provided in the service order given to the crew by the office. If you would provide information like the bulb size in the unit, which you installed and have changed several times, so the information is available, they could have made sure they had the bulb when they left the office, and prevented the crew from having to make a trip back to Nixa just to get the bulb. A little bit of effort will make you more efficient and therefore more profitable, and keep your customers from having to wait around for another hour to get a 15 minute job finished. Again, your service crews are always knowledgeable and reliable.

The guys that came out on a Sunday were absolutely amazing. But the 3 stars reflects the reason they had to come out. The pump was installed just under 3 years ago, the failure was due to the lack of not taping the pipe unions. With no tape, it caused a short in the wires. This call should have been covered under warranty, but was not.

I can’t recommend them enough! I had an old water hydrant that needed replaced. This team came in and were able to dig it up with a backhoe and a shovel while working around my adjacent flowerbed, two trees and my concrete driveway. They were kind, courteous and meticulous! When they left, you’d never know they had been here…. except for my wonderful new hydrant and better water pressure! Bravo to Tom and all!

I wanted to wait a while to give a review as I have never needed well service until a recent home purchase required finding a knowledgeable company to do some much needed repair, and I wanted to be certain the problems were fixed the first time.
These people are the real deal. From the front desk to the guys kneeling in the mud at my house, it was a great experience. I remember being upset when I first contacted them as they were not able to come service my well for an extended period of time. They told me a series of storms had moved through and they had numerous customers without water and they came first. They took the time to talk me off my high horse and explain how lightning, well pumps, and copper wire combine to ruin people’s day and that past customers with no water took precedence over an impatient potential customer with rusty water and a weak pressure tank. They also worked with me to save my trees that were completely in the way of their well rig and gave me a first hand education while pulling 180 feet of rusty well pipe and a wore out pump out of a hole. It took a few days but my water ran clear, tastes great, and it has maintained its quality over the past 6 months.
Do not hesitate to call if you have a problem with your well. It’s gonna be hard, it’s gonna be muddy and rusty, it’s gonna be expensive, and you’re gonna be glad you called Hewitt Messenger when it’s all over.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hewitt-Messenger Well Drilling & Pump Service
How do I decide where to drill my well?
Determining the ideal location for your well involves evaluating several crucial factors. Consulting with experienced well drilling professionals is your best course of action. The Environmental Protection Agency reports that over 43 million Americans rely on private wells for drinking water, underscoring the importance of careful planning. Key considerations include the site's terrain and accessibility, both now and in the future, especially if nearby development is anticipated. You'll need to adhere to legal setbacks from property lines and septic systems, which may vary by location. Additionally, factor in the current and potential future placement of structures and utility lines when making your decision.
Do I need a permit to drill a well?
Yes, a permit is typically required for well drilling. However, it's advisable to check with your specific county for local regulations. The state of Missouri mandates a well certification report upon completion, which we will provide as part of our service. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to our well pump service team.
How deep will I have to go to find water?
Well depth can vary significantly depending on local geological conditions. The formations in your area largely determine the depth, yield, and construction methods necessary for safe and effective well drilling. As experienced local well drillers, we combine our expertise with research on nearby wells to provide a clearer picture of your project's requirements. After assessing your specific site, we can offer a more precise estimate of the well construction process and associated costs.
How much water will I need?
Water requirements vary based on individual needs. In our experience, average usage typically amounts to about 100 gallons per person per day. It's important to note that landscaping can significantly impact water consumption. For more detailed information tailored to your situation, we encourage you to contact our well pump service.
What is casing, and how much will I need?
Casing is a crucial component of well construction, consisting of metal or plastic pipe that lines the borehole. It serves to protect your well by sealing out contaminants, supporting surrounding rock and soil, and preventing corrosion over time. As part of our comprehensive service, we install casing in full compliance with Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) regulations, based on the specific requirements of your well location.
What is a PVC liner, and do I need one?
A PVC liner is a hard plastic pipe made from polyvinyl chloride, serving a similar purpose to casing. It's used to prevent contamination, contain surrounding formations, and protect against rust. The PVC liner is installed inside the casing and borehole. For more specific information about whether a PVC liner is necessary for your well, please contact our well pump service team.
