  We had Design Tile & Flooring remodel our shower a few years ago and have been extremely disappointed with how the situation has been handled since. We had no issues with our shower before the remodel. Immediately after the work was completed, the shower began backing up. An installer returned and cleared the drain by ramming something down into it, but not long afterward we began experiencing a slow leak. Over time, that leak progressed into visible water damage which affected the ceiling below and making my grandkids’ bedroom unusable due to water dripping from above. When we reached out for help, we were told someone would come by to look at it. No one ever did. The only response were several back and forth emails from the company’s president, Don Benkowski, asking for pictures of the damage and shower, then blaming us that the problem already was there. He eventually stated they would no longer assist us. A licensed plumber later told us the plumbing system itself looked good and that the issue appeared to be related to the shower floor, pan or drain installation—all part of the original job by Don’s Company. We had to hire another tile company who had to tear out the granite floor tile and the bottom half of the shower wall. They did find that there were two bottom corners that were not sealed correctly allowing water to drain through. Also, the shower curb was installed improperly. Yes, I realize that the original warranty had expired, but in my opinion, the refusal to even personally inspect the problem or offer any path forward is very disappointing. We were not looking for a handout—only accountability and a willingness to stand behind the work. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company.

  I’m the owner of Opie’s woodshop and more. Besides custom cabinets we install tile and flooring. Design tile and flooring is the only place we send customers to make selections. Nick is our contact and he is great to work with. They offer a large selection of reasonably priced options. Great place and great people!

  Excellent tile layout and details down to grout color. Pete Pleoger was efficient and dependable in our bathroom remodel. Definitely will hire again!

  Pete was courtias and professional throughout the whole install. He had a great attitude and answered any questions I had.
