- ZCZach ContrerasJul 21, 20251.0I Talked to somebody on Friday she quoted me $450 to rent a machine and told me it would fit in the back of my truck.when I get there they tell me I need a trailer for it and it’s actually $900 absolutely ridiculous. Drove two hours to go pick this thing up. The guy at the store was not willing to work with me anyway to address the issue of the employee give me the wrong information wasting my time. No one ever called me or tried to reach out to let me know, that I was given the wrong information, even though they knew on Friday. I will never do business with this company again and would recommend going with a different rental company.

- TLTerry LongOct 12, 20184.0My nephew rented a Skyjack scissor jack (model #SJ7135) from Rochester, MN Sunbelt Rental last weekend. It failed to move forward or backwards after a few hours of use. A technician was called to the site for repairs and replaced the control module. It worked until that afternoon, when the engine died and would not restart. The next morning the technician returned and stated that the circuit breaker popped, he reset it, and he stayed to observe it being used. Within minutes the unit failed to move forward and backwards again. The technician analyzed the unit and determined the throttle solenoid needed to be replaced but could not get one until the following week. He sprayed it with WD40 and left. It worked temporarily, but was short-lived. We could not complete our project because it failed again later that day. The rental office refused to refund any rental fees or give the unit for another weekend. For the amount of money spent for this unit, we are very disappointed in the quality and service that was provided. UPDATE: After further discussion with the manager at Sunbelt Rentals, my nephew received a partial refund to cover the time lost due to the equipment failure. Thank you for making it right. We have revised our initial rating.

What do I need to rent a tool?
All you need is your driver’s license or a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card to pay for the rental upfront. No extra deposit is required.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
