After a lengthy and often frustrating process of receiving estimates from several HVAC contractors I hired KB Service Co. I’m glad I did. They took about a full day to install a new A/C and Furnace system which operates perfectly. They were on-time and left our utility room clean. I appreciated that there tech was easy to talk to and didn’t mind answering all of my questions - there were quite a few. I’m having them back to my home to do some more work soon. I’m a more than satisfied customer.

I appreciated how professional Nate was as he diagnosed, and explained to me, what was wrong with our water softener. He tried a solution for a couple of weeks to see if it was "fixable" acknowledging that at 10 yrs old it would probably require replacement...which it did.
Respectful, knowledgeable, approach and a very pleasant man to work with. I highly recommend him.

KB was sent by my home warranty plan, which I'm going to terminate. I appreciated that at least they came, when there's apparently very little HVAC coverage through this home warranty company. The down sides: this was a frustrating visit. The technician wasn't a bad person, but basically proposed that I just "put a bucket" under something leaking with the boiler, and took no other action to fix it. In addition, I needed help with the installation of a wireless thermostat. To expedite things, I paid for the equipment myself out of pocket, so this was solely about labor. The technician told me that the amount authorized by my insurance company was less than the company charges, and told me I would need to pay the difference if I wanted the work done. This isn't the way that warranty insurance works. I'd already paid a $100 deductible, and the rest of the work is supposed to be covered by the warranty company at their rates, with the contractor (in this case KB services) accepting those rates as a precondition of getting work through the warranty company. I've been exhausted trying to get this issue fixed, and basically let him charge me a little bit more (unlawfully), but told him that I was paying under protest, and that he shouldn't try to do this to other customers. In addition, after all that, he didn't actually have the skillset to install a wireless thermostat and corresponding EIM (equipment interface module), despite his claim that he did. After he couldn't get the two parts to connect, he first claimed that they were incompatible (they're not -- they are recommended by the manufacturer as compatible), and then that there was a missing part (there wasn't -- he had everything). I basically put my foot down and said he needed to call the manufacturer to learn how to do the installation. He grumbled but did so, they talked him through it, and about 10-15 minutes later everything was working fine. But he wasted about an hour trying to do it himself without help, and without understanding the task. Pretty frustrating.

WHAT A MIRACLE!! After I reached out to Community Action, Shaun (from KB Services) was out that day, ordered the necessary parts, and John was just here — no waiting, no scheduling. He has fixed my ancient gas heater and I finally have heat! Both professionals were polite, friendly, and very skilled. Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to all who were involved!!!

I recently requested service through their website for my work office. I was called back the same day and got an appointment and estimate for the cost right away. The text updates were timely and helpful as well. They came when they said they would and charged what the estimate was too. Very pleased with the quality and communication.
