    Owners house received water heater services today from Genz-Ryan. Jacob Brausen did an amazing job ~ Super knowledgeable, calm, clean, professional, friendly. He removed & replaced any old or concerning items down to the magnesium rods. Gave thorough explanations for everything and examples from previous jobs/house calls. Sensible recommendations and options for waterheater longevity & preventative measures vs what might not be worth investing in quite as much for the budget-conscious. Quality work, clear expertise and diligence in the field! Bummer genzryan has a tendency to overbook their appts so much where they have to reschedule (sometimes multiple times per service call) but outside of that once they actually get someone out here they have always typically done a terrific job & not a reflection on the worker. Bonus points for being great with pets - even the little scaredy dog actually stayed downstairs by us the entire time &accepted treats (quite the progress/accomplishment for her so felt worth mentioning)

    I scheduled a plumber to come help with my challenges with two older toilets. So many little problems from me, a single mom, fixing my own toilets with Dirty Y videos. My first discussion was with Nicole at Genz Ryan, who scheduled the service. She is a great representative of Genz Ryan and was familiar with the challenges I was having. She explained to me that the plumber would first , give me prices on all of the things that I needed to have done, even if I wasn't ready to have them done now. She called them the dream list. So I did that. she explained that I could choose which things I was ready to have done and which things I might want to wait a little bit on. Today, Steffon arrived, gave me a plenty of notice And even sent a photograph of himself so that I was aware of the person who is coming in my house. I felt like that was over and above a safety measure for customers And I appreciated that. Steffon introduced himself, covered his shoes (which was not necessary) and first went over the details of the service I was requesting. We went through both bathrooms so I could point out some of the challenges I was having. He Gave me two scenarios or recommendations on repairing the problem with old toilet and every kind of part you can imagine. He gave me an estimate on either repair or replacement of the toilets and other items that I was curious about replacing. Once I decided on what I wanted, Steffon got to work and provided the service in a very quick amount of time. I was very appreciative of his kindness, his knowledge and expertise and willingness to explain everything to me. He didn't make me feel that he was in a hurry, and was attentive to my needs and answered all of my questions. I am so grateful for the services I received from start to finish. Thank to Genz Ryan, Nicole and Steffon. I cannot give a higher recommendation for services. Is this not the first time I have used this company and is certainly not the last time. I loved everything about my experience today.

    I had an outstanding experience with Genz-Ryan, and I want to specifically recognize Ben, Kurtis, Ari, and Francisco for going above and beyond. From the moment they arrived, it was clear I was dealing with a team that truly knows what they’re doing. They were professional, respectful, and incredibly efficient—but what really stood out was their attention to detail and pride in their work. They didn’t rush through anything or cut corners. Instead, they took the time to make sure everything was done right the first time. Ben, Kurtis, Ari, and Francisco worked seamlessly together, communicated clearly throughout the entire process, and made sure I understood what was being done every step of the way. That level of transparency and care made a huge difference and gave me complete confidence in their work. It’s not often you come across a team that combines skill, professionalism, and genuine customer care this well. The quality of the work speaks for itself, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Genz-Ryan to anyone looking for reliable, top-quality service. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again in the future.

    Very rarely do I post reviews of companies. Unfortunately, our experience with Genz Ryan has been so frustrating, that I felt the need to post. I apologize for the lengthy review, but I want folks to know of our experience. Summary of my review: While the staff and customer service reps were always pleasant, they were not knowledgeable. They did not fix issues, they simply covered their mistakes with "band-aids". I would absolutely not recommend this company for homeowners who have mini splits. They are way overpriced and do not do quality work. Backstory: The original mini split unit in our 1964 home needed to be replaced in the summer of 2022. My husband and I were new homeowners, had no experience with mini splits, and chose to go through Genz Ryan to replace both the outdoor and indoor unit. They clearly have many, many positive reviews. We felt good about our choice. Hindsight is 20/20. We paid $14,000 to replace the indoor and outdoor unit. We had no idea what an absolute outrageous price that was. Could we have done more research? Absolutely. However, it was truly the reviews of everyone else that persuaded us to use this "reliable" company. The $14,000 was a complete waste. Every summer, and a winter or two since then, we have had to call for maintenance on our new unit. The first time, water was pouring out of it onto our original hardwoods while we weren't home. They came and "fixed" it. But this issue happened again. Another time it was leaking refrigerant and wasn't blowing out cold a/c air. They came and "fixed" it again. Once more, the issue came up a second time. I will say, the staff that came out were always pleasant. However, it happened more than once where a technician would arrive and make a comment about not really knowing a lot about mini split units, and yet continue to "fix" or do work on the unit. After hearing these comments, whenever I called, I made sure to specifically request a technician who knew how to work on mini splits. The requests were not always met. This last winter, the unit stopped blowing out heat and my partner and I chose to go through a different company to come look at it. Within minutes of arriving, they noted that it was one of the worst mini split installs that they had ever seen and compared it to a "DIY" project. They informed us that Genz Ryan never registered our unit with the company of our mini split model. They informed us that Genz Ryan installed it incorrectly, that the line-set was brazed instead of being pro-pressed or flared. They informed us that these units, unlike a standard a/c unit, should never be brazed, as it can cause blockage caused by the soot byproduct within the unit. They informed us we had absolutely been ripped off with the $14,000 price tag and quoted us only $5,800 to replace the whole thing, because fixing what Genz Ryan had originally installed would cost nearly $2,200. Long story short. I do not recommend Genz Ryan. My husband and I have not been impressed with their prices, quality of work, or knowledge on the system that they installed in our home.

    The short answer - Lance McChristian is a hero and this was a phenomenal experience. Long answer - Our water heater died last night. I am scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. Not having a hot shower in advance is a massive problem. With all of the "to-do" items to be ready for surgery had piled up. The water heater dying was absolutely the last thing I needed. I called GenzRyan this morning at 6:49 am and was able to get a same day appointment after explaining the situation. Lance arrived by 10:30 and immediately got to work. He assessed the problem, developed 4 quotes and presented us our options - 4 in total. We chose to have the water heater and water softener replaced. Initially, Lance thought he'd be able to get the water heater done today and the softener tomorrow. Definitely not ideal, but oh well - at least I'd have hot water. Lance went above and beyond, choosing to be late to his kids sports game to finish the entire job today. We'd never had to call a service before for help with appliances. I was leery and nervous. GenzRyan was beyond well represented by Lance and put all of my anxiety to bed. Literally saved the day. I cannot express my gratitude enough.
