When Stephan came to our home as the result of a 3rd party's repair request that was unknown to us as the homeowners, Stephan went above and beyond to determine and resolve that problem with the 3rd party. His outstanding professionalism, his kind and considerate understanding, and dedication to working through the overall situation for us as homeowners was exemplary. Thank you, Stephan!

Mack and Cam came out to talk through the process of descaling our tankless water heater and while they were here they noticed our water softener had an issue and was dispensing more water than it should - “money down the drain” so speak - long story short, these two were great! I thoroughly enjoyed their service, their demeanor and efficient ways. I will admit the price was high, but they were willing to listen to me and most importantly, they worked with me. I’d give them a 10/10 - super guys! Great work and just all around good people.

I called Genz-Ryan for a simple toilet install and drain unclogging. Steffon Drumgoole was the young man who came to my house. First, Genz-Ryan was able to get to me within a day of my scheduling the appointment and it wasn’t an emergency. They were so considerate of my schedule and even tried to get to me even earlier than scheduled. They made me feel like my little project was so important. When Steffon arrived, he was friendly and polite. He even greeted my dog. He proved to be incredibly knowledgeable and professional. He checked in with me multiple times about questions I might have. The project turned out to be bigger than expected as my water softener and water heater were in really bad shape. Steffon showed me exactly what signs were there to lead him to that “diagnosis.” It didn’t completely surprise me as my home was not maintained well by the previous owner. I was able to ask questions which explained issues I had noticed but didn’t connect to my water heater and softener. Steffon was clear and explained things very well. He was respectful of my home and worked quickly to do what he could today. He left my home cleaner than he found it and made sure to explain all that he did and what I needed to know. If you can request your service provider when you schedule an appointment, I would recommend asking for Steffon. He is top notch! Hopefully he’ll be back when the new water heater and softener are installed.

First off, I’ll say that Cesar specifically was a nice guy and was able to ultimately get the water turned back on in my house. For that, I am extremely grateful! I tried fixing my own leaking shower cartridge, and ultimately I was unable to do so because the handle was too corroded. This left me with a problem: I couldn’t turn the water back on to my house without having that handle attached. Genz Ryan showed up in a ChatGPT search for “24 hour plumbers”, but weren’t able to get to my house until the next morning. No biggie. Cesar took a look at my problem and spent an hour writing an estimate to fix it. The first of four solutions was a $15,000 complete replacement of my water heater, softener, re-piping my entire run to my shower, and putting in a new handle. I nearly bowled over with laughter. The cheapest solution, labeled “band aid fix”, was to add localized cutoff valves near the shower. This was estimated at $1500, and included cutting into the drywall behind the tub. I asked what it would be if I cut my own drywall, and he said $730. So yeah… Genz-Ryan actually wanted to charge me $800 to cut a 1 foot square of drywall. I’m giving Genz Ryan two stars because they did come over and assist me when I needed it, but I feel absolutely taken advantage of. If you’re in a complete pickle and need a plumber, sure, I guess go ahead and call up Genz Ryan. Just be aware that you will be paying a massive up charge for the privilege of doing so.

The service was good overall and the issue I had was resolved in about 30 minutes, which was a simple laundry room wash tub leak. The trouble I had was with pricing because once the issue with the sink was fixed, the tech asked me if I wanted the full home assessment “at no additional cost” which ended up looking at things until he found something that was a very expensive fix (water heater rod replacement quoted at roughly $2,000). The interesting part is the way the pricing was presented which I’m convinced is the way they charged almost $600 for changing a nut on the washtub sink and installing a missing nozzle washer that I realized was missing. The pricing was presented on an iPad showing the gold, silver, and bronze plans…the gold plan being $2,000, silver being about $1,300, and the bronze was $550. It just seemed a bit deceptive to make $550 seem like the “most reasonable” option. The other interesting part is that the whole home assessment stopped as soon as I said no to replacing the water heater rod.
