Jacob and Cam from Genz Ryan did an outstanding job servicing our water heater. They flushed the system, replaced the anode rod, and installed a new valve — and everything was handled professionally from start to finish. They were punctual, respectful of our home, and took the time to clearly explain what they were doing and why it mattered. I really appreciated how thorough they were and how clean they left the area afterward. It’s obvious they take pride in their work. The whole process was smooth, efficient, and stress-free. If you’re looking for knowledgeable and trustworthy technicians, I highly recommend Jacob and Cam at Genz Ryan. We’ll absolutely be using them again for future HVAC and plumbing needs.

Sam was great! ! He came to do a routine maintenance on my electrical and I explained to him my issues with my basement lights not working. It was totally unplanned but he got the necessary supplies and fixed all 4 lights. He was very professional, worked quickly and discussed with me future items to address. Sam was my third Genz Ryan employee to come to my home today. I can't speak highly enough of a company, that has 3 individuals in different areas of expertise, who all have excellent customer service.

I had received a cold text from Genz-Ryan saying they would be in my area this week doing $26 tuneups for water heaters and water softeners. I figured, hey why not... Seems like a good deal... So I get scheduled for the next day. Guy comes out, mentions my water heater is pretty old 19 years, but still appears to be in good condition. After some discussion, we decided on draining just a little of the water out due to possible sediment get clogged. Tech mentions to me that my water pressure is to high (100psi) and then asks to see where the plumbing comes in. After checking he states that I need a (prv) pressure reducing valve as my home doesn't have one. He says it will cost $1000 to put it in. I declined because it has been fine this whole time and I wanted to think about it. We did discover that my anode rod was nearing end of life, I elected to take care of that myself. A few days later I contacted the city to ask about water pressure and pressure reducing valve. They said I should have one already, as it is required by my city. I told them I had a tech out and they said I didn't. Well turns out I do have a prv. It's difficult to think that he wasn't just trying to get $1,000 out of me. As for the pressure, I went and bought a professional grade water pressure tester and tested it myself. For whatever reason it is also reading less that what his was at 90psi. All in all, it was good to have someone come out for $26, even though he also said he wouldn't touch my water softener as it is a culligan, but also I wouldn't necessarily jump into anything until you do your own investigation. And for reference here's the prv he said I didn't have...

Noah Phillips was absolutely outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely customer-focused from start to finish. He came for a routine furnace check-up and took the time to thoroughly explain the different stages of how the furnace operates. Noah patiently answered every question I had, clearly and without rushing, and meticulously tested the system for pressure, gas leaks, fan speed, and overall performance. What really stood out was his attention to detail, impeccable cleanliness, and deep respect for my home. It's clear the entire Genz-Ryan team takes great pride in their work and truly prioritizes the customer experience—something that's unfortunately rare these days. I've only used Genz-Ryan for furnace-related services so far, but based on this exceptional experience, I highly recommend them for any heating needs in the Lakeville/Twin Cities area. You won't be disappointed! Thank you, Noah and Genz-Ryan, for the outstanding service.

$26 Tune Up is a SCAM!! I scheduled a basic tune-up, but it quickly turned into a high-pressure sales pitch for a $10,000 new furnace. During a week of sub-zero temperatures, the technician shut off my heat, claiming dangerously high CO levels. I got angry then he showed how to turn on, but upon checking with other technicians legally he's supposed to do that. After getting a second opinion, I discovered three major dishonest claims: Lie #1 - I was told my heat exchanger was out of warranty, which was leaking CO. I verified with Lennox that it actually carries a 20-year warranty. Lie #2 - The tech claimed CO levels were lethal. A second independent technician confirmed that CO levels naturally spike briefly at startup before stabilizing—which is normal operation, not a failure. Lie #3 - The tech measured CO in the exhaust flue and claimed it was leaking into the home. A follow-up inspection of the actual vents showed zero CO leakage into the living spaces. Avoid them at all costs, surely avoid $26 tune up which might turn up unnecessarily expensive.
