- VHVicki HansenJan 19, 20231.0I purchased carpet from Galaxie Floor Store and had it installed on 4/24/20. I purchased a higher priced carpet because I was told it was a better quality carpet and would last longer. Not true in my case. Within a year the carpet was worn and matted down. At that time I called Galaxie and told them the carpet I had for over 30 years looked better than the carpet they installed less than a year ago. I questioned if there was any type of protector put on the carpet for stains because it looked so bad. I live alone so there was not much traffic on this carpet either. I was told to have the carpet cleaned then send them pictures of the carpet. The problem was this was during all the restrictions for covid so I had to clean it myself. I sent them pictures as they requested of my still matted down and worn carpet. They insisted that I have it professionally cleaned so when I could I did have if professionally cleaned but Galaxie failed to tell me my warrenty period had already ended until after I paid another $430 to have this carpet cleaned. My question was why didn’t they tell me this before they insisted I had to have it professionally cleaned to be covered by the warrenty. The latest is now Galaxy is telling me that by me shampooing my carpet myself it caused my carpet problems and won’t reimburse any monies back to me. It’s very disappointing that since this carpet was looking bad within a year of installation and I notified them at that time they will do nothing for me. Also I am a second time customer of Galaxie but definitely won’t be a third time customer
