After 4 quotes for a whole house generator we selected Oak Electric through Costco. Fair pricing, honest upfront costs, process and future maintenance. The 3 technicians that did the complete installation were very professional, polite and informative. The finished install looks amazing, truly expert installation and was installed 3 hours earlier than I expected, bonus! From the in home quote, to the front office scheduling and now the installation and walk through and testing the unit, all I can say is FANTASTIC!
Way, Way, Way overpriced! $199 visit fee--nothing else, then a $150 charge for replacing one GFI plug, literally just exchanging it out. So that would have been $350 to come out and change out a GFI outlet. BTW-that was a 'try', real problem not diagnosed officially. No one told me $199 fee for just showing up--no credit to any work they might do. Bad business practice.
NO, no no. Had I known, they would have never been asked to come to my house.

Just had our generator serviced by your technician Kyle L. He was very knowledgeable about our particular model generator (which is in great shape - yay!) and was able to give us some ideas of what we will probably need in the future as our generator is 15 years old. We will definitely request that Kyle do our service going forward.
We had a Generac home backup generator installed in late 2023 through Costco and Oak Electric. We were forced to purchase a Service/Maintenance agreement in order to maintain the 10 year warranty that was advertised. This was not relayed to us until after the sale and installation. The agreement cost nearly $350 a year, but promised Maintenance and "free emergency service" the event of a problem. When the sales rep showed up, I showed him where I wanted the generator installed and he rebuffed my plan and instead wanted to install the generator at a different location closer to the electrical power inlet, which was over 100 feet further from my propane tank. they installed the generator at the further location, even though I was concerned about adequate propane flow when it got colder. They never measured any baseline values. In January of this past year, we had a power outage and the generator failed to start. When we called to get the emergency service, we were told they would only come out free of charge if they could also do the planned maintenance (which wasn't due until late April). I was told by the Service Manager that "We have to make a profit" and that is why they wouldn't make two trips. They failed to respond to request for answers concerning the failure code the unit kicked out. They blew us off! When we had our service done early April the tech took pressure readings at the unit and low and behold the pressure was lower then the minimum requirements from Generac. Just as I suspected. I sent an email to the service manager and have not heard back in over week. They have been very surly from the start about being paid, even hounding me to pay the balance before the final inspections. I'm stuck with a unit that is advertised as giving one "piece of mind". It doesn't seem like anyone at Oak Electric cares (once they get your money).
Recently had a generator installed from Oak Electric. The process was smooth and seamless.
No heavy sales pressure, staff contacts DTE to submit paperwork for gas line update, you pay DTE for the gas line update, generator install date choosen and a team of 3 journeymen electricians show up and install your generator.
The team who did our install was very professional and personable. They worked efficiently and smoothly together. They talked me through the process for install and nearly 4 hours later I had an up and running generator.
I highly recommend Oak Electric.
