  Bad experience from sales to install to service. Told the Salesman I wanted thermostats to function a certain way. Was assured this was no problem. After installation was told no thermostat does what I want it to do. Just tell me ahead of time so I'm not expecting something you can't deliver. Had to call service twice almost immediately. Once for a garbage thermostat that they refuse to replace. Told by service tech that the thermostats have had lots of issues after being told by the Salesman they are the best in the industry. I should have known better. Second call because they forgot to tighten a fitting on the humidifier and it started flooding my basement. They sold me an expensive maintenance contract. Should be good for piece of mind, right? Nope, just an invitation for them to upsell me expensive filters during visits where they pretend to check on the furnace. I got my own filter. They pull the old one and tell me they have to put the dirty one back in unless I pay them $5 to install my new one. No problem. I'll install it myself. I hope this review was worth the $5. I'd avoid this company if at all possible. Had nothing but issues from sales to service. I will be calling today to cancel my service contract, they don't need to bother coming back and I pray I don't need more warranty work as I don't trust them to fix it properly.

  Chris has has installed, serviced, and consistently provided professional HVAC installation and maintenance in my home offer the last nine years. The company provides the best customer service and contact support i have experienced. If I sound like a "fan boy", I am. During this most recent equipment purchase and installation process I called Comfort Plus and another local HVAC company over a few weeks. The unnamed company took my quote request online and sent me an online quote that did not accurately reflect my request and I had no contact with the company. Comfort Plus sent a tech to my home to review my needs. He indicated a quote would follow after Brad the manager had an opportunity to provide it. A week later I called and spoke to the secretary about the lack of a quote and she told me it was on Brad's desk and she would let him know. I never received a call back or quote from Comfort Plus. I shared this because not all companies provide quality customer service. On the flip side I called Kevin at Applegate HVAC and talked to him for twenty-five minutes about my problems related to my home needs and he was amazing in providing information about my systems and recommendation made by Chris last spring. This level of service is totally unexpected post-Covid and is the reason I called Applegate once again to complete my HVAC installation and maintenance. You may find cheaper HVAV companies, but you won't find a better customer service experience than I've had over the last nine Plus years with Applegate. Robert Smith
