  superb work and quality. incredibly happy with the results, we chose medium brown stain and love it. would hire again! thank you so much. take a look at the pictures I show of a botched job hiring a laborer and then old to gold saving the day!

  Disappointing. With a name like Old to GOLD and the knowledge of the office staff, we expected great things. But the talk was more smooth than the finish we received. There are hairs trapped in our finish and sanding marks made by the tech. Old gouges and paint marks were ignored by the tech. The attitude seemed to be that we were in a farmhouse so we should expect lots of character. The lack of attention to detail was disappointing considering the thousands of dollars we paid and the careful work we did to prepare and follow team instructions. Although a supervisor touched up the worst spots, many issues would require a complete refinish. And we don't have confidence that would improve things- the supervisor agreed to repair a piece of furniture damaged in the process, promising to take it to the "woodworker he would most trust," but actually did it himself and the stain doesn't match. We've waited several months, but still feel we can't recommend the work of Old to Gold.

  Fantastic overall experience and results. Things started with a little bit of a frustrating first day when some equipment broke and couldn’t be quickly repaired. Team lead Ron literally went the extra mile by driving to Chicago, on a Friday evening, to pick up a spare unit and they finished the job the next day. Just unbelievable commitment to customer satisfaction. And, by the way, the work they did was top notch and everyone at the company was professional and personable!

  We had water damage from a leak and had companies bid on repairs to our wood floor. I'm so glad we chose Old to Gold. They explained why just sanding or replacing the damaged boards was not the best option as the gaps between the boards would not match. We ended up replacing the entire floor and the waterlogged subfloor too. Old to Gold communicated clearly and regularly during the installation. And they returned to fix a small flaw so that I can hardly tell it is there now (see the second photo). Overall, I am very happy with them and with the new floor. Our installer, Adam, was polite and worked hard to get our floors done on schedule. Things to know: Old to Gold is not a general contractor. You will need to arrange for movers, paint touch-up, and cleaning. They do have recommended vendors, but I ended up doing much of it myself to get things done within the schedule I wanted. And while they left our home neat and free of sawdust, refinishing floors puts powder in the air that is going to be on your walls no matter what they do to control the dust. The photos are slightly darker than the actual floors. We chose Bona's "Sand Dune" stain color and are very happy with it.

  Old to Gold did an amazing job resurfacing and installing floors in our home. We appreciated the team’s depth of knowledge, great communication and close attention to detail. When our heat unexpectedly went out, Adam quickly contacted us so we could address the problem and stay on our timeline. Scott was very helpful in deciding on a natural-looking sealer and finish. We would definitely recommended to anyone working a big or small project!
