I would like to state that although I was not able to purchase or rent some of your equipment I was planning to. I will need a new chain saw and I still planned to rent a bulldozer from your business next spring. I wanted to rent it this year however health issues with my father in law prohibited me from being able to do this.
I have been a customer since approximately 1999, purchasing a honda generator and a stihl weed trimmer that caused the current situation to unfold. I have had my current stihl chainsaw worked on many times, purchased the oil and gas additives and had my chain saw chains sharpened throughout these years. I have always had good service in the past and I realize that you cannot run a business on my purchases.
However, I was really taken aback by the confrontative tone the tech used when looking over my trimmer cable situation. I did not expect to be involved in an argument by asking if the trimmer could be looked over to decide if the fix would be quick which it was or would be costly. As usual, with small fixes I have had in the past the fix was handled quickly and without a charge.
I admit that I came in frustrated with the trimmer. I sent over forty minutes at my father in laws trying to start the trimmer, when I did get it started the throttle trigger was off, I could not find how to fix it and so I had to forgo the trimming. Maybe in adjusting the idle screws, I did something to pull the throttle cable from the screw however, I never took a screw driver to that screw and untightened it, as was stated by a tech in front of three or four other Jones Rental employees. I simply don’t think it is a good business practice to have employees stating or implying to customers that they are lying. I haven’t and wouldn’t lie to you and I simply expected the same courtesy in return.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
