  Beware! I called A1 Garage Door and explained the issue I was having with my garage door (After opening, it would slip down about a foot). I scheduled a consult and their Special Tune-Up for $29.95, which should have included lubrication, tightening and adjustments. When their rep arrived he told me he completed the Special Tune-Up, but my existing equipment was beyond repair because it was too old, and “repairs would not solve the issue”. I was given several quotes ranging from $1,700-$6,000 depending on what I chose to replace. That same day, ASAP Garage Door Repair Systems of Michigan came out and not only repaired my existing equipment (which is only 3-8 years old), they also completed a tune-up. Their rep explained to me what should have been done in a tune-(lubrication), and repaired my opener (tightened and adjusted). All this for $40. I would highly recommend NOT using A1 Garage Door Service.

  Travis was very skilled and did a great job explaining how to make my garage door safe again. He answered all my many questions and was respectful. I was impressed with his hard work ethic and ability to work in the frigid 30 degree temperature. Once the garage door was fixed he noticed the old GENIE opener was not working correctly. He stayed longer than we planned but was able to replace the old opener with a much nicer one so I could use the garage door safely. I have young children and the old style springs were not safe. Thank you Travis!

  My old 1990s era opener was acting up and it seemed like it was time to replace it. A1 was able to schedule an appointment for just a couple of days later. I appreciated the confirmation reminder about the appointment, the email and text with the service tech's name and photo, and the call from the tech when he was on his way. Devante was on time and was very knowledgeable, offering me different options and helping me choose the right opener. My garage door has been neglected for a while and Devante checked it all out and gave me recommended "needs" and "shoulds." With the new opener and a little TLC, my garage door opens and closes like a dream, super quietly too! I definitely would recommend Devante and A1.

  I’ve been having issues with my garage door for about 6 months now and have tried multiple avenues with different companies to correct the problem with no long term success. It wasn’t going up all the way, stopping intermittently, struggling to operate. And recently I just had A1 technician Carl Meckes out for a service call and wow, what a great experience from the first minute on. Carl took the time to do a full evaluation on every aspect of my garage door and walk me through the how’s and why’s for everything on my garage door. He went over and above on his explanations and was so thorough at every level and explaining my options along the way for both long term and short term. He knew detail down to the last screw on every aspect of what he was doing and was so transparent with his discussions, it was so comforting to know it was finally going to get fixed correctly. It was very apparent the level of experience Carl had, and it showed in his demeanor and the way he carried himself and communicated everything to me. Which is very refreshing in this day and age when everyone out there is just trying to make a quick buck and jam through work. Carl was customer focused and quality driven, and this was very apparent in the work he did for me. I couldn’t believe my door could function like that when he was done. Plus he walked me through every piece he worked on and showed me where and why the parts I had were failing so I knew there was a true need. So I just wanted to compliment Carl on his outstanding customer service and work that he did. As well as the great conversation we had. A1 Garage Door Service is truly the go-to for any garage door work. And if you’re lucky, or can request, you’ll get Carl as your tech. A1, you need 20 more Carls working for you and thanks again!!
