In our case, we needed a whole new HVAC system for our townhome…and found out, after shopping around, that the price for a new system wasn’t what it was back in 2003, when we last had it replaced. My sister-in-law, who had a complete system installed by Alpha in 2021, highly recommended them, so we got in touch. I found out that their prices were more competitive, than the other companies who I talked to…and, trusting my sister’s judgment, based on her experience, I went ahead and had my new Amana system installed by Alpha. I have no regrets in the decision I made…and would recommend Alpha to anyone needing HVAC service. They’re a great company with caring, knowledgeable people working for them.

For the next 2 days I called so many companies, got appointments scheduled, and then was ghosted with no updates. When I called Alpha Heating I got to speak directly to the owner Steve, who was at my house within the hour to fix our problem. It took longer than expected when he found a second leak, but he didn't charge any extra for the additional fix and went out of his way to be courteous and to build a service relationship. Thanks Steve - great work, you've got a customer for as long as we're in Baltimore now!

I understand the purpose of a diagnostic fee, but being charged the full amount when the problem wasn’t fixed—especially since I had to hire someone else to resolve it—was frustrating. 12/25/25 update: In response to your reply, I would like to clarify the full sequence of events. I initially requested that your company install a specific part that had been diagnosed by another company. That part was installed, but it did not resolve the issue. Your company then conducted its own diagnosis and replaced two additional parts. Unfortunately, this also did not fix the problem, yet I was charged approximately $500 for those repairs. I believe it’s important that the complete and accurate timeline be reflected. Thank you.
