Beware of exorbitant prices
In 2020 I had an HVAC system installed. I signed up for a service contract. My system had a 10 year warranty on parts and 5 years on labor. In April 2026 my AC stopped working. I already had an appointment for the regular maintenance check up scheduled so I let them know that the AC wasn’t working. I asked for a quote and was told that the problem had to be diagnosed first. The Farnen and Dermer technician determined that the motor was bad. The technician (Mario) was great. Very knowledgeable, courteous and a pleasure to work with.
Once it was determined that I needed a new motor, I asked the price and how long it would take to complete the work. Mario called the office to find out. I was told it would take about a half an hour (as long as there were no problems). Much to my dismay I was told that it would cost $879.00 (this was a reduced price since I had a service contract)
The repair took a half an hour. I watched it being done
$879.00 for a half an hour job. I have never heard of a company charging that much for a half hour!!!
Needless to say I won’t be doing business with Farnen and Dermer ever again!!

Had them out for a full system replacement. Gave us a great price with financing options and had an amazing crew come out to install. Definitely recommend

Great work from Farnen and Dermer! We've used their services for almost 10 years now at two different homes, normal maintenance checks as well as three new systems as the old units have worn out. They are always prompt, efficient, and do a quality job. The new heat pump systems are great, by the way, and we could immediately see the difference in energy usage.
Honestly it really wasn’t a good experience. They showed up took one look for 5 mins and said I need a new unit for $14k. We had a second contractor come and simply change out a wire and fix it for less than $200. Very dissatisfied.

Had to replace my fan motor. Eric L. (tech) was knowledgable, explained everything, and assured me if I needed anything in the future don’t hesitate to give them a call. Zach was also very accommodating.
Would highly recommend.
