Budget Waterproofing did an excellent job. We had the following issues that caused our basement to leak this past summer: clogged window well drain, missing drain in another window well, a window well that wasn’t high enough, downspouts and sump pump discharge pipe dumping water too close to the window wells and house, and an areaway drain that easily clogged. After researching multiple companies, I decided on Budget Waterproofing, and after working with them, I know that I made the right decision. From start to finish, their entire team was knowledgeable, professional, responsive, respectful, and patient, especially the owner, Robert, who helped me navigate a very stressful situation with his expertise, years of experience, and kind demeanor. He and Brooke always promptly responded to my emails and phone calls and never made me feel like I was being a pain. The estimator, Bill, was very knowledgeable, arrived on time, and provided detailed and accurate estimates the same days that he came. We had to have two estimates because after the initial work started, they confirmed that the black corrugated pipe in the existing drain-tile system was clogged with mud and had to be replaced. While it was very upsetting to see the pipe packed solid with mud, we weren’t taken off-guard because Bill had already prepared us for this possibility. Erick and Elvin were the powerhouse team who worked diligently to open a perimeter trench in our concrete basement floor and install 80 linear feet of a new drain tile system, which consisted of 4” PVC perforated pip, felt cloth, and new stone/gravel to surround the pipe and drainboard. They worked tirelessly, digging multiple trenches in hot and dry weather, laying new pipe with pop-up drains to extend our downspouts and sump-pump drain pipe ten feet away from our house, jack-hammering approximately 2 x 80 linear feet of concrete, hauling out and disposing of all the cracked-up concrete and old gravel by repeatedly going up and down a full flight of stairs, wrapping and installing new pipe, hauling and laying new gravel, cutting out drywall, installing a taller window well, installing two window well drains, replacing the old areaway drain with a new grate drain, and re-cementing. It was grueling work; yet they always maintained a friendly demeanor and positive attitude. Additionally, they hung plastic to protect the other parts of our basement and left the area clean when they were done. I also want to add that even though they had to cut out the bottom two feet of our dry-wall to remove the old pipe and install the new pipe, they didn’t cut or damage any of the framing or insulation, which was a huge plus, as I heard that some companies do this to make the installation of the new pipe easier. It has only been a couple days since they completed the work, but so far, so good. We had heavy rain this past Monday night and no leaking. I would definitely recommend Budget Waterproofing. They provided excellent service, and their pricing was competitive based on quotes that I received from other companies. And, last but not least, I also appreciated their text and email reminders of upcoming estimates and installation dates.
