  Unprofessional. An hour and a half late, unresponsive, didn’t reply when emailed with follow up questions. Even their regional manager just said “it happens” about the tardiness and lack of follow through (no design, no email, no next steps, etc) and asked “what do you want to do about it”? Sir, that is not my job to create clean retention for you. I would have had two whole rooms being done, and most likely more. They couldn’t care less. Went with another company that offered me many perks, was so happy say to work with, professional and courteous with lots of follow up. I recommend Closets Direct over Closet America ANY DAY.

  My closet installation on 3/26/2026 was extremely disappointing. I want to start by saying that the in‑home sales representative was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful. Unfortunately, everything after that point went downhill. What I paid for and agreed to was not what was installed. The system was supposed to be an L‑shaped built‑in, but the installers arrived with a completely different drawing than the one I approved. I’m not sure if the person who custom‑built the units couldn’t read the plan, but the final product looked nothing like what I purchased. After I showed the installer my original design, he acknowledged the discrepancy and said he would email his supervisor. I have no idea if that ever happened. Instead of the correct L‑shaped built‑in, I was left with standing units that take up far more space than planned and completely change the layout of my room. To make matters worse, they covered all of my electrical outlets, even though I specifically requested cutouts. They told me they were “out of covers,” which is unacceptable for a custom installation. I called customer service on 3/27/2026 and was told someone would respond within 24–48 hours. No one contacted me until 4/3/2026, and even then, the earliest appointment available was 4/11/2026 between 1–5 PM. I was told someone would “attempt to reinstall,” but part of the unit doesn’t need reinstalling — it needs to be rebuilt correctly, according to the design I approved and paid for. My experience with Closet America was extremely disappointing. The installation I received did not match the design I paid for, communication was slow, and I was left with bulky standing units that took up far more space than planned

  Great product, but customer service is non-existent. I’m happy with the finished product from Closet America, but the customer service experience has been very disappointing. I’ve been trying for over a month to order an additional part and have left at least five messages. The customer service line goes straight to voicemail every time, and none of my calls have been returned. This is not a new issue. I had the same problem when trying to schedule my installation and had to go through my sales consultant just to get an appointment set. Now that the installation is complete, I no longer have a direct contact and customer service has been completely unresponsive. At this point, I wish I had chosen a different company. A lifetime warranty does not mean much if you cannot reach anyone for support.

  PAY THE EXTRA MONEY TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Closet America has once again failed to follow through on what was promised. I was told my glass doors would be in by the end of March, and my installation was scheduled for today between 12–2 PM. LETS BE MINDFUL THT MY PROECT BEGAN ON 12/6/25 WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT THE PROJECT WOULD BE COMPLETE IN 4-6 WEEKS. My closet was designed beautiful but they failed to execute! broken promise after broken promise. However, I received a call just an hour before the appointment stating that only the countertop was available — no doors, no shoe racks, and none of the remaining items. This is completely unacceptable. This ongoing lack of communication and organization has caused repeated inconvenience. I adjusted my schedule to accommodate this installation on numerous occasion, only to have my time wasted yet again. There is no reason I should be finding out at the last minute that the necessary materials are not available. That should have been communicated well in advance. Honestly, they can remove the closet and refund my money because I never want to deal with them again. they can also keep the warranty! its a bunch of BS and false hope. I would like to give credit to the men that installed my unit( they were amazing) and Lydia ( the second manager that worked on my project) other than that closet American can kiss my you know what!

  I am obsessed with the closet Shelly designed. I wish I could put my bed in there and sleep it’s so beautiful. Not only was the design process simple it was like hanging out having a girls night in. She was such a breath of fresh air! It was my first experience building a custom closet, and she made the process so seamless. She has great positive energy, so smart, thoughtful a visionary the list could go on. Customer service is prompt and Shelly has great Communication. I cannot say enough about Closet America. I was so happy with my designer that I didn’t even look for another consultation. I knew this company was the one.
