  I had planned a full home (down to the studs) renovation and addition and I wanted a contractor whom I could trust. Throughout the project, Macon was professional, communicative, on top of the financials and attentive to craftsmanship /building details. I’m now 10+ years out and have been very pleased with the quality of the work in my home. It was a true pleasure working with Carl, Nathan and their team. I highly recommend them. - Meg

  We cannot sing the praises of Macon highly enough! Their attentiveness, personalization, professionalism, integrity, and craftsmanship were over the top. We always felt the utmost trust in the marvelous and memorable father/son partners, Carl and Nathan, and their kind, multifaceted crew and skilled team of longstanding specialty subs—all of whom we came to know well. They greatly eased and wisely/creatively guided the countless downstream decisions we had to make. We always knew that Carl and Nathan were looking out primarily for our best interests, and that they wanted to make sure every task was done right for the best outcome. I share the plaudits of the other 5-star reviewers and imagine my adjacent neighbors do, as well. Watching our work progress, they also hired Macon; and this spring/summer I have now seen the beehive of major renovations Macon has been speedily building for them from the exquisite porch Macon crafted for us! Give Carl and Nathan a call, you’ll be grateful you did for years to come.

  We had a fantastic experience working with Macon Construction on the rebuild of our ADU, which suffered major damage from a fallen tree during a storm a few years ago. From start to finish, they were professional, reliable, and a pleasure to work with. They always answered our calls, responded promptly, and their crews consistently showed up on time and worked hard. One thing we especially appreciated was their flexibility. As we were working on other improvements in our yard, a few additional items came up that weren't part of the original scope. Macon was willing to take those on without hesitation, which made a huge difference for us and gave us piece of mind that we had someone we trusted that we could call. We’re extremely happy with the results and grateful for the smooth experience. Macon Construction will absolutely be our first call for any future renovation work.

  These guys are the best. We used Macon Construction for a kitchen renovation and to add a breakfast room in 2024. They were on budget and on time, but even better, they were super professional and did excellent work at every step. Their crew showed up on time every day, were very respectful, and clearly cared about their craftsmanship. We couldn’t be happier with the results, and have recommended them to several of our friends. I’ve heard all sorts of horror stories about hiring DC contractors, and feel lucky that we found Macon.

  We hired Macon Construction to do a whole house renovation on our 1950’s split level two years ago. Our architect recommended them for their principled and caring approach. The company is primarily a father (Carl) and son (Nathan) business with decades of high-end experience. For our job, we also had Eddie and Edy and a honed team of sub-contractors. Each of them added to the success of the job. We knew what we wanted, but when we couldn’t decide on an approach, Carl and Nathan stepped up. Twice, they recommended additional work that would have been foolish for us not to have pursued at the time. On the other hand, several times they encouraged us to reconsider costlier but superfluous construction options. This is all to say we had a good experience working with Macon during our renovation and leaned on Carl and Nathan throughout the process. There are a lot of moving parts for a job like this and there were instances of unavoidable stress, but we didn’t worry they were angling to cut corners and we trusted their ethics implicitly. We have lived in the completed house for over a year now and appreciate the solid workmanship and the sensible decisions they championed along the way. Macon’s website said that many of their clients miss them when they leave. This is true. We are looking forward to reassembling the team for a next phase of construction. With many thanks to them all, we whole-heartedly recommend this company!
