I honestly never write reviews, but I felt the urge to write one because of the exceptional service I received from Fred C. Johnson Co., INC.
From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. Chris handled the repair, and he is truly the best technician I’ve ever worked with. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. He explained everything clearly, worked efficiently, and made sure the job was done perfectly before leaving. His workmanship and attention to detail were impressive.
I also want to recognize Colleen Alcala, the office manager. She was excellent at explaining every detail, from scheduling to pricing, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Her communication and professionalism were top-notch.
Not only did they provide the best service, but they also offered the best price compared to others I contacted. With over 50 years of experience, it really shows in the quality of their work and customer care.
I will always call Fred C. Johnson Co., INC for any of my garage door needs, and I will definitely be recommending them to all my friends and family. Highly, highly recommended!

I've worked with this company 3 times now. They are absolutely the best! Completely honest, will not try to upsell you, have incredibly fair pricing, and do good work. Technicians are always professional, friendly, and willing to patiently answer questions. They won't nickle and dime you on the small stuff. I won't hire anyone else to do my garage door work.

Excellent service. Arrived on time and completed repair within estimated time and cost. Honored 14 year old warranty. Even took the time to demonstrate semiannual garage door maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fred C. Johnson Co., INC
what brands do you work with?
We install and service top brands like Clopay, CHI Overhead Doors, and LiftMaster, but we also repair all other makes and models.
Why did my garage door spring break?
Garage door springs endure significant tension and typically last about 10,000 cycles (one cycle = one open and close). Over time, they can wear out due to regular use, rust, or lack of maintenance. Replacing springs is dangerous and should be handled by professionals.
Can I replace just one broken spring?
While it's possible, it's recommended to replace both springs simultaneously. Springs wear out at similar rates, and replacing both ensures balanced door operation and prevents future issues.
How often should I service my garage door?
It's advisable to have your garage door professionally inspected and serviced at least once a year. Regular maintenance includes lubricating moving parts, checking spring tension, and ensuring safety features function correctly.
What should I do if my garage door is noisy?
Noises often result from loose hardware, worn rollers, or lack of lubrication. Tighten any loose bolts and apply a silicone-based lubricant to hinges, rollers, and tracks. If noise persists, a professional inspection may be necessary.
How much does garage door repair typically cost?
Repair costs vary based on the issue. For instance, spring replacements can range from $150 to $350, while other repairs like cable replacements or sensor alignments may differ. It's best to obtain a custom Free quote from Fred C Johnson to get the lowest price for your seciifc need.
Can I replace a single damaged panel, or do I need a new door?
If only one panel is damaged and the rest of the door is in good condition, replacing just that panel is definately feasible. However, availability depends on the door's make and model, call Fred C Johnson with yoru make & model for free quote.
Why is my garage door remote not working?
Common reasons include dead batteries, signal interference, or the need for reprogramming. Replace the batteries first. If issues persist, contact Fred C Johnson and tell us about your particular issue.
What types of garage door openers are available?
There are several types: chain-drive (durable and affordable), belt-drive (quiet operation), screw-drive (fewer moving parts), and jackshaft (mounted on the wall, ideal for high ceilings). The best choice depends on your specific needs and garage setup
