Rakeem was assigned to my request to replace all of the hardware in my shower, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step of the process so I always knew what was happening. His work was thorough, and he paid close attention to the details that really made a difference. I also appreciated his transparency—no surprises, just honest communication and quality craftsmanship.
I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing plumbing or hardware updates. Excellent work from start to finish!

We’ve had a Michael & Son Home Care Agreement for a around five years now, and there are things I genuinely like about it. The annual inspections on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and heating are great for peace of mind, and the technicians generally do solid work when you actually need something repaired.
That said, you really have to be prepared for the upsell pressure. A lot of the techs who come out will try to fear-monger you into pricey, unnecessary work. A couple years ago, one of them insisted we had to replace our water heater. We got two other opinions, and both said it just needed a minor repair — and sure enough, it’s still working perfectly years later.
Same story with HVAC: almost every visit includes a pitch for UV lights or whole-home filters due to “microbial growth,” when in reality we just needed our interior evaporator coils cleaned — which, apparently, is just normal maintenance every few years. That wasn’t something they told us upfront.
Quality-wise, the work they do is solid, but expect to pay a premium. We did have one issue where we asked for a recessed outlet behind the TV and they installed a standard one instead, so we’ll need to get that fixed.
Bottom line: The Home Care plan is worth it for routine inspections, but treat any recommended repairs or replacements with skepticism. Always do your own research and get other quotes. In our experience, 9 times out of 10, it’s better to have the work done by someone else.
I contacted Michael and Son regarding a water leak from my upstairs bathroom that was coming through the walls in my living room area. Rakeem arrived to my residence on time, ready to tackle the job.
Prior to Rakeem arriving, I had two other plumbers who was not a detailed as Rakeem. Rakeem assessed the water leak to see where the leak was coming from. I was hesitant to allow Rakeem cut into the ceiling of my home. He assured me if he was able to see where the water was coming from, the leak could be repaired. With hesitation, Rakeem was given the go to cut into the ceiling. He was able to point out immediately where the leak was coming from. It appears the contractor I hired to complete upgrades to the my upstairs bathroom did not install the toilet back into it place correctly.
Rakeem was able to repair the problem. He also gave me a few recommendations for my bathrooms.
I highly recommend Michael & Son. Rakeem was very professional and was very knowledgeable.

We recently took on a proactive repair and partial replacement of our 55+ year old sewer line, and Michael & Son Rooter & Drain made a stressful project feel manageable from start to finish. Ted came up with a smart hybrid plan that let us replace most of the exterior line and reline the portion under our front porch. Andrew and Brandon handled the excavation, and Jay, Jesse, Adrian, and a few others (wish I remembered every name) took care of the relining. Everyone was calm, friendly, and easy to work with.
They handled all the permits and scheduling, kept us updated, and explained everything in a way that made sense. The job itself was no small task — our setup includes a hung sewer line tied into a below-grade ejector pump, plus the run under a concrete porch slab, an asphalt driveway, the gas line, and even close to a utility pole. Ted’s quick pivot to the hybrid plan probably saved us from having to remove the whole porch slab, and we’re so thankful for that.
We’re really grateful for the entire team and feel a huge sense of relief knowing the line is finally in great shape. For something this complicated, I honestly couldn’t imagine a better crew.
Highly recommend Michael & Son Rooter & Drain!
We had an urgent call for a backed up kitchen sink line. The CSR/Dispatch I spoke with was clear and concise in communicating the process for emergency service, clear about the emergency fee, and very professional and polite. The technician, Drew, was incredibly professional, clear in his communication, ensured that he worked quickly and made sure to conduct himself in a manner that was least disruptive to our lives while he was in our home. He was friendly with our animals. Both the CSR and technician’s actions and professionalism have made us future Michael & Son customers! He unclogged our main kitchen sink line in about 45 minutes, cleaned up his workspace, and was gone in less than an hour after arrival. He was clear about the pricing before conducting the work. Great job, thank you!
