- MMMike MillerNov 4, 20251.0I rent equipment from United regularly, and as a project manager who relies heavily on time commitments, this experience was extremely frustrating. I reserved the equipment and was later told I needed to have a credit account, which we promptly opened. However, I wasn’t informed that I needed to reach back out after the application was completed — something the sales representative should have clarified. I specifically requested the boom be delivered early in the morning. The Friday before the rental, I was told delivery wouldn’t happen until between 1–3 PM, so I scheduled customer appointments around that window. Then at 7 AM Monday morning, I received a call from the driver saying he was already en route. I had to scramble to get technicians on-site and rearrange multiple customer appointments to accommodate the early delivery. When I followed up, I was told that dispatch and sales do not communicate directly, which appears to be the root cause of the confusion. The only saving grace in this experience was the driver — he was courteous, helpful, and took the time to ensure I understood the equipment before leaving. He even answered a follow-up call later, which I greatly appreciated. Bottom line: your internal communication needs serious improvement. Misalignment between departments shouldn’t fall on the customer to manage.
