On one of the worst days of my life, (someone set my house on fire). Service Masters crew, had given me so much peace and comfort in a very stressful situation. They were empathetic to my situation and took care of me. Everytime something bad happened, (break ins) I knew I could call them and they were there to answer the call and took action. They dealt with everything from permits, clean up, board up, bylaws, and rebuilding. I highly recommend this awesome team!

Had our first (garage) fire ever, so it was quite a shock to us. Chris was very accommodating and professional to deal with. Thanks again to Chris and the Service Master team for helping us navigate through this challenging period.

We had our ceiling collapse due to the builders using nails on 2 layers of drywall in the late 60s. The mud had asbestos (not the drywall or insulation). Our whole house was deemed contaminated and we lost anything in the room where it happened, all of our clothes, furniture, and the children's soft toys as it was assessed that since the furnace was on, it was circulated throughout the house.
ServiceMaster Restore's communication with us and the insurance company was mediocre. We were told it would be 2-3 weeks seemingly every time we asked for an ETA. 2-3 weeks... 2-3 more weeks...
It was 135 days. About 6 weeks of that was ServiceMaster being unable to find a drywall crew to put our house back together, despite already having taken 3 months in cleaning and not booking the crew based on their target date to be out of thew house, and telling insurance (NOT US) that the house was ready to move back into despite NOT HAVING A CEILING IN OUR LIVING ROOM.
If they could have given us an accurate timeline, it still would have been a long wait but we had to stay available to move back in with a continually repeated timeline of 2-3 weeks. This disrupted work and vacation with our kids until we realized that they had no timeline and were not close to being done.
The photos of our "non-restorable" belongings were poorly photographed (a photo of 4 items representing 40 items in a closet, a laptop at ground zero not being documented at all, etc...) and we were told that nothing would be thrown out without our permission (when asked if we had options to re-assess or sign waivers on any heirlooms of low risk we were told that it was all sealed and nothing can be reassessed so that statement on needing our permission was technically true as they couldn't officially dispose of it out of their storage, but we didn't actually have another option). Insurance replacements are assessed based on what we can prove to be in the house and frankly our items were removed from our house and thrown out without us present so we couldn't prove their existence for replacement.
Overall, this was a challenging experience for our family, but I can't say that if given the choice to go back in time that I wouldn't have cleaned my own house with proper safety precautions, on my own dime, without insurance rather than being dragged through this. Our financial losses (despite insurance) would be about the same and would have been far quicker.
The restoration itself seemed fine, other than the timeline. We have no way of verifying that there was asbestos throughout the rest of the house and that after cleaning there wasn't (unless that testing was actually done and the reports not shared with us). They were able to send someone quickly when this happened (5AM on a Sunday).
The drywall and paint crew did a good job but that was subcontracted.
We got our house back.
Our house is not asbestos free (we still have other original mud on our ceilings and walls elsewhere), we just have whatever miniscule amount of friable asbestos that was not caught underneath the insualtion and drywall, or by our furnace filter gone.
Also gone are a lot of our keepsakes and memories... and 135 days of our spring and summer spent waiting in limbo under the promise of "2-3 weeks..."
