- KBKeith BakerOct 12, 20251.0Their first visit to our house was a very detailed HVAC diagnosis so I had high hopes I had found a company that I would sign up for keeping everything in my home running. Unfortunately my major replacement project with them required constant supervision and investigation on my part. I didn't write this review because I hoped it was a fluke and it did after a very long time get corrected. They gave me a service plan in exchange for the trouble but it's been much of the same. Most recently they took so long to get to the AC service that they "did heat and ac at the same visit" even though that is not what the plan says nor did I agree to it and it was pretty early for heating. The heat just failed to come on for the first use of the season and they refused to address it urgently. Sadly they don't meet my needs and I would not recommend them unless you know enough to be constantly reviewing their work.

- JAJason AckersonSep 11, 20251.0BUYER BEWARE. The last 6 months of my life have been a bit of a nightmare. If I could give 0 stars, I would. A&L was hired to install a new $30K heating system in Nov 2023. There were several issues with the install like not testing the system, mixing zones, not purging lines, air in the gas line, etc. I was willing to look past those issues until this year when one of the pipes came apart. Upon review, it was discovered (and confirmed by A&L and other plumbers) that one of the pipes wasn't originally crimped. See images. The result is as follows. My entire basement had to be gutted, contents damaged and I've been fighting with insurance for 6+ months. Stress and headaches aside, I'm still not whole and I'm faced with 10s of thousands of dollars of repairs out of my own pocket. I've also had to pay for storage for my belongings. It gets better...I found out my insurance is getting canceled because of this claim and my premium will go up to $8K/year (a $6K increase). I should have learned my lesson the first time when A&L was hired to solder another pipe years ago. They could never get it to stop leaking, so I ended up buying my own torch and soldering it myself. Shame on me for giving this company so many chances. Please do your homework before you end up like me.

Every employee--Tony who examined my house and quoted the job, Caitlin who managed the project, and Mike and Matheus who performed the installation--had fine social and technical skills and was a pleasure to work with. And Paul, the company owner, has scheduled a "Quality Assurance" visit to check that the system and service meets his standards. All decisions regarding equipment selection and installation details were discussed with me, and the system has a web interface. If anything goes wrong, A&L and I (on yet another app) will be notified immediately. A&L's price was not the lowest quote we received, but they were in the ballpark, and their pre and post job service can't be beat!
