Great Service from Brayden and Logan! Brayden and Logan arrived and quickly went to work on my chimney , completing their job in lighting quick time but with attention to detail! Brayden had a nice, friendly and professional vibe and a positive attitude! He even secured my door knocker after he noticed it askew as well as offered masonry work on my front steps! Logan was also complimentary and respectful and had a positive and encouraging energy as well! Appreciate you!

This was the third time I’ve had work done by them. 2 cleanings and a chimney repointing and I am happy to say I’ve never had a complaint. Excellent job every time

They sent a severely injured technitian to my house in fact he could barely walk. He was in no condition to do any work that required lifting tools and unfortunately he did nothing. I felt so bad for him I gave him a knee bace that was custom made for me when I tore my ACL/MCL and cost over $4,000. Chimney sweep still charged my card that I had given them to book the appointment for no services rendered. They offered to come back and "re-do" work that was never done and the owner admitted as much in writing, but at this point the way they spoke to me on the phone, wanting to bring back the injured tech basically to shame him in front of a customer and even told me if there were no brush marks in the chimney he is fired, I don't want anything to do with your company. They told me my fireplace needed a new liner amongst other things and was not usable so why would you charge me to clean it? They also charged me for an oil flue cleaning and I didn't notice this till a few days later but there is a giant tag on it that says it was cleaned on 1/6/26 by the woman we bought the house from (just closed on it weeks ago). I have confirmed the cleaning with the company that services the oil burner and they are sending me the paperwork confirming this. They quoted me a price of almost $10,000 for repairs verbally but never sent the estimate. I also had 2 chimney companies come in for repair estimates and they both confirmed (in writing) no cleaning was done here and I had company that day and they can confirm no vacuum was ever run and no cleaning ever happened. I was told my dryer vent would be cleaned for free on the phone and they wanted over $100 to clean it the day of. With all this they refuse to refund the money they charged me. This is unethical business at its finest. The pic of the cleaning door shows its rusted shut and was never opened.

Since I was a little girl, the Original chimney sweep would come to service our household. Always a wonderful experience, always a hard-working individual that left covered in what I assume he cleaned out of my chimney. We recently purchased a home with two fireplaces. I had my husband call the original sweep because that’s who I was familiar with. I figured if they were still in business after all these years, they must be continuing with what was good service. My husband felt terribly. when the gentlemen they sent had a severe leg injury and was limping. The gentlemen told my husband how he hurt his leg and that he had a baby at home so that he could not miss work. Such a sad story my husband gave him his knee brace so the man could continue working. He looked in our fireplace upstairs and said it was beyond repair. He looked in the downstairs fireplace, took a few pictures, and boiler exhaust..Nothing was cleaned or fixed. A ladder never came off of his truck. A machine was never was used to clean. We were charged $520. He said he was going to leave us a detailed estimate of what he believed was $10,000 of work to be done, but that did not happen. My husband has spoken several times with the manager to get our money back. $520 was for a cleaning, not for an opinion and a few photos . A dryer vent cleaning was also supposed to be included in this $520 visit, but was never done. My husband was told it was going to cost more if we wanted him to do it. We both feel very bad for the employee that is doing his best to support his family but a reputable business should’ve let that gentleman stay home and take care of his body and send an able-bodied person to our home. My husband has had many conversations with the manager. Their solution was to shame this employee dragging him back over here with a manager and show him how it’s done. At this point, I don’t trust the company will do the job correctly and making an example out of an employee at my house physically makes me sick to my stomach. I’m not going to have them come back and bully someone for a physical problem they’re having. He just shouldn’t have been allowed to go to customers houses until he was well enough to do so. Our next call is into the building inspector to have him see if our chimney Is in that bad of shape. We recently had a home inspection and he didn’t seem to think so. I know many many people have had wonderful experiences as I did in the past with the original chimney sweep, but this was terrible both for us and their employee.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Original Chimney Sweep Inc.

What are the levels of chimney inspection?

At The Original Chimney Sweep Inc, we adhere to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines, which outline three levels of chimney inspection. Level 1 is a basic inspection for chimneys under normal use, examining accessible parts. Level 2 is more comprehensive, required after system changes or events like chimney fires, often using video equipment. Level 3 is the most thorough, conducted when serious hazards are suspected and may involve removing structural components. We're here to help determine which level you need for your chimney cleaning or inspection.

How do I know if my chimney needs repair?

Several signs indicate your chimney may require repair. These include cracked or missing bricks, deteriorating mortar, white staining, rust on the damper or firebox, water leaks, smoke entering your home, unpleasant odors, or debris from the flue liner in your fireplace. If you notice any of these issues, or if it's been a while since your last inspection, it's advisable to contact The Original Chimney Sweep Inc for a professional evaluation.
