We bought a house in Fall River and as soon as we decided to finish the basement, we knew it had to be as safe as possible. We found this company, contacted them, and from the very first moment, John was super helpful. He came and looked at the space and gave us a fair price. He completed the entire installation in less than 10 days, everything perfect. A year later he came to check if everything was okay, and as expected, everything is great. I highly recommend this company.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hydroseal Basement Waterproofing
What causes water to get into my basement?
Water intrusion in basements is typically caused by several factors. These include hydrostatic pressure, inadequate exterior drainage, cracks in the foundation, gutters that are clogged, or a high water table. During periods of heavy rainfall or when snow melts, these issues can be exacerbated, leading to water penetration through weak points in the foundation.
How do I know if my basement needs waterproofing?
Several indicators suggest your basement may require waterproofing. These include the presence of standing water, walls or floors that feel damp, musty odors, visible mold growth, paint that's peeling, a white chalky substance known as efflorescence, or cracks in the foundation walls or floor.
What's the difference between basement waterproofing and damp proofing?
Damp proofing is a less comprehensive solution that primarily slows down moisture absorption. It doesn't, however, prevent active water intrusion. Waterproofing, on the other hand, is a more thorough approach that actively stops water from entering. It often involves the installation of drainage systems, sump pumps, and treatments for walls or cracks.
What waterproofing solutions do you offer?
Our waterproofing solutions are tailored to each home's specific needs. We offer a range of options including interior drainage systems, sump pump installations, foundation crack repairs, exterior waterproofing, vapor barriers, and crawl space encapsulation. The most appropriate solution is determined based on your home's structure and the source of water intrusion.
How much does basement waterproofing cost?
The cost of basement waterproofing varies depending on several factors. These include the size of the basement, the severity of the water problem, and the specific solution required. Simple repairs might cost a few thousand dollars, while more comprehensive systems can be more expensive. We offer free inspections and estimates to provide accurate pricing for your specific situation.
How long does basement waterproofing take?
The duration of a basement waterproofing project depends on its scope. Typically, interior waterproofing systems can be installed within one to three days. Larger projects or those involving exterior work may take longer, especially if weather conditions are unfavorable.
Will waterproofing stop mold and mildew?
Waterproofing is effective in preventing mold and mildew growth by eliminating excess moisture, which is their primary cause. However, if mold is already present, it may need to be professionally removed either before or after the waterproofing process is completed.
Is basement waterproofing permanent?
High-quality basement waterproofing systems are designed to provide long-lasting protection, often for several decades. To provide additional assurance, many waterproofing companies offer extended or lifetime warranties on their work.
Can I waterproof my basement myself?
While DIY solutions like sealants or crack fillers may provide temporary relief, they often don't address the underlying cause of water intrusion. Professional waterproofing offers more comprehensive, long-term protection and can prevent costly damage in the future.
Does basement waterproofing increase home value?
Basement waterproofing can indeed increase your home's value. It protects the foundation, improves indoor air quality, and makes the property more attractive to potential buyers. Additionally, it can help prevent future repair costs, which is an attractive feature for homeowners and buyers alike.
