We are really pleased switching to MacFarlane Energy. They quickly processed our application, and scheduled a survey and a tune up within days. Ray was a very professional technician. He answered all my husband's questions. He was very respectful, very patient, and told us what to expect in the future. He did a very thorough job tuning up the system and explained how the new tank monitoring system works. He was a fine representative of MacFarlane Oil, and we hope to have him back next year. Andrew and Joe did an excellent job servicing our boiler. We recently purchasing a new home and the boiler has run into issues a couple of times during the closing process. Now that we moved in, the boiler stopped working again. Andrew came and did a diagnostic and identified that there was a missing part that was necessary to prevent this issue from frequently happening. Joe came out and did the installation and a full tune up. They both did a great job and educated me on what was going on. Thanks

We had MacFarlane Energy installed a brand new heating system years ago and have been their loyal customer since.
Recently their technician did a routine system maintenance service. After that, the blower started to make loud noises. The technician came back identifying the blower needing to be replaced. This was two weeks ago. I have made multiple calls and their service department representatives kept telling me that they don’t know how long it will take for them to locate the blower.
It’s difficult to understand why they couldn’t get the part for the system installed by themselves after spending two weeks on it. In addition, the representative on the phone was rude and kept repeating that he doesn’t know how long it will take for them to get the part and he couldn’t give me an estimate. He had to end the call.

In an effort to be helpful & informative, the technician for annual tune up told me before he began working on the boiler that I should have insurance coverage in case my oil tank ever leaks. He didn't touch the tank, but after he did the tune up, I noticed an oil leak coming from the boiler! Whatever he did in the tune up caused this. The on-call tech came out next day to stop the leak, but the unit now needs to be completely cleaned out as well as the floor of my utility room, and apparently requires more fixes. It's not clear these additional fixes are covered in my annual agreement wtih McFarlane. I do not have any confidence in the McFarlane technician who did the tune up and it was a very curious coincidence he told me I need insurance coverage for oil leaks before he did the job. I've never in the 10 yrs I had the house experienced anything like this, nor did I experience any oil leaks in the boiler/furnace anywhere else I lived. Feels a little almost pyro-maniacal to me and they should let that technician go. I do not have the warm & fuzzies in working with McFarlane folks, feel what they do is not safe & puts my house & me at risk

MacFarlane just installed a five split system in my home and the entire process was wonderful, would definitely recommend them to anyone and here's why:
Our first point of contact was Jerry, a comfort advisor who came to our home, did a walk through, and explained the best options for our house. Jerry was incredibly knowledgeable about system designs and the products they install. For several days after while we were gathering other quotes and squaring up our Mass Save information, I texted him with so many questions and he always responded quickly and would hop on the phone to explain something to me. I felt incredibly comfortable with him.
The install crew, led by Luis, was just as great. He was professional, showed up every day when he said he would, and properly set expectations -- to the point where every day when the work was wrapping up he'd do a walkthrough with me to show me everything they did that day and answered any questions I had.
They told me the job would be done in four days and it was done in three and a half. They were professional and courteous throughout the whole process. One of the things that impressed me the most was their cleanliness and attention to detail. Every area they worked in was vacuumed, cleaned, and put back exactly how they found it. I've had several contractors do work at my house over the years and you'd be surprised how often they focus on doing the job and not the cleanup after. Not these guys. My wife had offered them some bread she had baked and provided plates and a cutting board. The guys WASHED THE PLATES, cutting board, and carefully put them out to dry. Totally unexpected but definitely appreciated. I also think our basement was cleaner after they left than when they had started the work. Just incredible all around.
I couldn't be happier with MarFarlane and look forward to working with them to maintain my system for years to come.
