RUNNN!!! I bought a 10x8 pump from these guys fluid division which failed within 2 hours. They gave me a “loaner” while they repaired only to find them charging my CC in nearly $20k in rentals. Beyond that, the repairs were terrible. I had missing bolts, leaks, etc. They are unwilling to do ANYTHING to fix any of the above. When I found the problem, the manager Gavin’s only response, “If you would’ve said something earlier I could’ve fixed it.” Sounds like an admission to me but now in CYA mode that they have stolen $19,000 from me. Nothing but lies out of his mouth. Further, every time I’ve ever rented a pump from them I’ve had nothing but problems. Terrible company, . terrible people. Quite frankly they are just crooks. Check out the pictures.

My name is Jacob Baker. I used United Rentals several times for various equipment rental needs. My most recent experience with this company has completely soured my opinion of them. They have always wanted all of their money up front which I understand and have paid up front, its my own fault I haven't taken the time to fill out a credit app with them. I recently rented two scissor lifts along with trailers to transport the lifts to various locations. I originally rented one of them for two weeks and the other one a week. After realizing I needed one lift a little longer I took one back and extended the rental on the other for an additional two weeks. I will admit I did not do a good job of keeping up with how long the lift was on site after the initial extension period (that I paid in advance for). So it sat on site 3 days past the extension. They sent someone to pick it up and I spoke with Micky, who was nice about it, and allowed me to pay through another week, I paid them again for the extended period and was told I was squared away. I told him at this time, that I may need it for longer than that. He assured me I could extend the rental again if needed. At the end of the extended period, they removed the lift the very next morning and attempted to charge $150 for picking it up without contacting me prior to removal. The rental ended on Wednesday and they picked it up first thing Thursday morning, no phone call. I was already planning on calling that morning to extend it for another week, even though I only needed it for a day, so I could use it on another job. After they agreed to not charge for the pick up I asked if I could rent the scissor lift for another week while offering to pick it up myself and take it back to my job site. I was then told by an employee that Shane (the general manager) would not allow them to rent equipment to me unless I paid an entire month in advance, even if I needed a 1 day or 1 week rental. I have always paid my bill, I have never tried to cheat anyone out of money. This company will not work with its customers, period. They would rather remove equipment you have paid over $1k for, the day the rental expires than extend a little good faith and collecting additional payments over the phone. They don't mind bringing your project to a complete standstill over a very small matter. I understand making sure you get your money, but when someone has rented from you several times (whether they have a credit account with you or not) and has always paid their bill, it would make since that you would not inconvenience your customer over a $7,000 lift that they paid 1/7th of its value of in a month to utilize. Its hard enough to stay on schedule in construction with weather and unforseen circumstances, its even harder when your vendors remove what you need on the last day of your job and then ask you to pay another month in advance for 1 additional day or week. Especially when that customer is paid up and has rented from you previously. As stated above, I get busy too and should have kept up with my dates a little better at the end of the first extended period, but it was paid for and they got more money out of me because I needed it longer than that. Your vendors should work with you a little more. I will never use this company again, It is inconceivable that someone would be willing to delay their customer on completing a job they have been working over a month on for a scissor lift rental that they have already been paid for and have a history of paying every bill incurred. Its also inconceivable that they would ask you to pay the same amount you spent for the entire rental, up front, with a deposit when you badly need the equipment back on your job site immediately and you already had a deposit on the equipment in the first place. Absolutely ridiculous! I will tell everyone I know to stay away from these guys. No good faith whatsoever and all about their bottom line.
