- SMSean McDonaldMar 19, 20262.0Technician misdiagnosed my heat pump, I wasn't able to catch him on the first visit to help diagnose the problem. I noticed wires were rubbing the coils in the condenser and asked the Technician if he rang out the wires, he states no he swapped the control board. Since my unit is only 10 months old and installed in a brand new house. After him swapping out a control board waiting 6 days to receive the new board. He was going to charge me a service fee. Then stopped himself and said oh you're still covered under your 1 year parts and labor warranty. Technician was nice & professional, cleaned up after himself and didn't half ass putting the covers back on leaving the screws out. It also appears the technician just moved wires out of the way for this problem to possibly happen again, no splicing seen. A simple hand feel of after noticing the insulation would have originally fixed this issue. I suggested to the technician after noticing the wires, to help resolve the issue to use liquid electrical tape then follow up with heat shrink tubing to revive the insulation of the damaged wire. He stated he spliced the wires to resolve it. I will update this review if I'm charged a service fee in the next 3 months if this problem happens again. The factory OEM failing to properly secure the control wires and melt touching the coils is what caused this issue.
